This is a gofundme to help support my family in these troubling times. My father was Vernon Leonard he was kind, wonderful, thoughtful and was a true born again Christian.
About two weeks ago my dad had gone to the hospital, we fear he was having a third heart attack. The doctor kept him over night because they found an abnormality. They informed us that he needed a Quadruple bypass surgery or he was gonna die, so they immediately proceeded with the surgery as planned the next day. The surgery was a success and with the doctors ok he was able to come home.
My dad seemed to be doing fine, he was walking around, he was acting like he was alright. Things seemed to be going smoothly. But on march 4th, 2017 he suddenly collasped in the bathroom, my sister and I tried everything we could to wake him while my brother called 911.
The doctor said he went into septic shock and that liquid was filling his left lung. They immediately went to working on draining his lung and trying to help him. My mother and sister stayed by his side the whole time and told me he was doing well. But his heart suddenly stopped and the doctors did all they could, my fathers time on this earth was up.
At 11:46 pm my father passed away, leaving behind a heart broken wife, three kids, and a small dog. This gofundme is to help us give him a proper memorial service, get him cremated, and help pay off all of the medical bills that will be coming our way.
My father was the biggest star trek fan, he loved comics, and he was a huge nerd. Which inspired me to do cosplay and try to do stuff that would interest my dad. He was the reason I got into nerd culture. And I do not want his memory to die in that hospital room. Please if you could help donate it would mean the world to my family, Even if you can only donate a small amount of money, it would help us all out so much. My father was an inspiration and I want us to be able to celebrate his life. The funds are needed as soon as possible so we can get everything covered. My mother will be handling everything with my sisters guidance.
