Im Gordon Yeager and I created a Bike Shop/Brand 6 years ago called Velo Hangar. I started working on bikes in my garage after leaving a local shop. If I couldn't work for them I was going to work for myself.. That was my mantra. Working from home was great! I could make my own hours, set my own schedule.. After awhile I realized I need a little something more. I shared some space in Solana Beach. That space definitely grew the business but the fit just wasn't right. So I moved the business back to the garage and hit the ground running. The brand is growing stronger and stronger! What I'm missing now is that community part. The social interaction. I miss seeing people's faces. I miss enjoying a beverage with my friends/clients. What I also miss is VH merch sales. I have an online store which performs well but, it's not the same...

What I'm planning to create is a social spot, A spot where I can sell my VH branded mercahndise but most importantly create a place for all of us to gather, hang out, socialize.  That's why I'm planning to build Velo Hangar SC. It's part Social, part Service, it's all You. Think patio, coffee, chill. Luckily I'll be sharing space with a top notch locally owned coffee roaster on the premise. My space will be own though. Solar powered, simple. I need help with the construction. The FF&E's, the shell itself..

I will be starting construction in August of 2016. The spot has been secured.

Velo Hangar is my passion. I've started it from scratch and when I say scratch I mean $500 in my bank account. It's my baby if you will. More importantly though all of you have helped me build it into what it is now and I need your help to take to the next level. I'll be keeping the service side in my hidden lair at home but this will be your "space". I miss you guys and gals.

Holy Cow! Amazing how much can happen in a few short weeks.. Very exciting!

Since the last update I have started working from the container even though construction isn't 100% done. Yesterday we were able to install the solar panels on the roof. Why is that so important? 1. I was only getting charge from them when I was at the container. 2. They were heavy and cumbersome so taking them in and out everyday was inefficient. 3. Now when I'm not at the container I can still get a charge for the generator.

Yesterday I also took delivery of my island/bar/bench that MattJ built for me. Stoked he was able to use some of the leftover wood & supplies from the projects.

Next week's projects include painting the bench, finding a countertop & begin organizing the shop area.

If you find yourself in the Carlsbad area, swing by! I'm working there Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 1-7 currently. Saturday 10-4. I've retained my days off of Wednesday's & Sunday's.

Howdy Everyone!

I know it's been a long time between updates but I wanted to send you guys a quick note!

Well we are poised and ready for the construction to start. The space is cleaned and ready for the container delivery. It was a kind of hurry up and wait scenario. I want to say thanks to Rusty for making it happen so quickly and smoothly. Still looking at the end of August for delivery. Right now I'm starting to grade and level the space so I can put down pavers for a foundation. As soon as the container is delivered we will start construction which should only take a few weeks for the bulk (door, flooring, insulation, drywall, etc.).
Then the fun part begins.. Building the counter, seating etc.

I also wanted to say thank you to everyone who has donated positive thoughts, friendship, love and of course money to this project! Without my friends and family I'm not sure where I'd be.. So thank you!!

Wow. Super thankful for the great response so far! Thank you Thank you! A couple of the first steps are on the way.. I've found the container but won't be ordering it till the space is ready. I've decided on a Goal Zero Solar kit since I won't need to power too much. I've also started talking to a few local builders about the build out. I'm soo excited to start construction!!

Thanks again for all your support!
This similar to the one I've purchased. 20'x8', cozy.
