At approximately 1:00AM Tuesday, December the 4th my boyfriend William Gatlin was involved in a serious vehicle accident at SR 164 and 196th Ave in Enumclaw, WA. He was heading eastbound on Hwy164 back to our house when the driver of a small Kia sedan lost control around a corner, drifted into Will’s oncoming lane, and collided with him head on. The driver of the small Kia was driving in excess of 100mph, was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, and had 3 younger passengers also in the vehicle. Will desperately tried to stop but was not able to which resulted in his truck driving partially through and over the back of the Kia, flipping and rolling multiple times, and slamming into a phone pole that broke and impaled metal pipes through his windshield inches away from his head and body. On impact the driver and three passengers where violently ejected from the Kia as they where reportedly not wearing seatbelts, and were also were allegedly under the influence of alcohol according to Washington State Patrol investigators. Two of the Kia passengers were instantly killed on impact, the other two are in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA. As for Will, he ended up getting serious lacerations on his hand from breaking the steering wheel and his right hand going through the windshield. Will has completed surgery and has around 20 stitches in his right hand as well as severe back and chest injuries from the impact and is now suffering with severe pain. This has completely turned our world upside down and Will is absolutely devastated.
Several months ago Will decided to start driving for Uber and Lyft 7 days a week to help out in our hometown in Enumclaw. Since we are a small community there has never been much demand for Uber or Lyft and he decided to sign up so that anyone in around us had the option for a safe ride home. Will had also recently lost his normal full time job due to the company he was working for unexpectedly going out of business. As a emergency option Will decided to increase his driving for Uber and Lyft so he was able to keep some type of income for us. Now that his truck is totaled we now have no source of income, no vehicle, and Will is going to need months of rehabilitative therapy to even be able to walk normally again. Will never thought that some young drivers deciding to speed, and drive under the influence would be the thing that changed our lives in an instant. Financially we were already struggling to make ends meet and now with extensive medical bills, inability to work, and no vehicle, we are completely at a loss. Will is going to have more expenses increasing as he still has to undergo extensive medical treatment for his injuries and our day to day bills are still adding up.

I am asking anyone who sees this, if you could please spare even a couple dollars to help us stay on our feet while we figure out what to do going forward it would mean the world to me. Thank you for taking a second to read this story and I hope you all have a blessed day.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and support during this time. Our families, friends, and local community here in Enumclaw are a true blessing.

Just wanna put an update since I haven’t in a long time.. nothing has really gotten better, Will has still not been able to find a job even though we both have applied for tons. We have applied for DSHS but haven’t gotten anywhere yet. We have really been praying for a miracle or for at least something to go our way a little but things just aren’t working out for some reason :/ we are still lost on money and our only income at the moment is will trying to sell computers and a little help from family. Will is struggling a lot with ptsd and depression but we are getting help with that so I’m praying at least that will get better over time but with all the financial issues and not getting any responses on jobs is really affecting him but I’m doing everything I can to help him and let him no everything is going to be okay and things will eventually turn around for us... I am asking everyone to pray a ton that things will eventually be okay again for us!!! We can very much use the good vibes and prayers! ♥️♥️ thank you everyone so much! ♥️♥️

Just wanting to give a little update for anyone who is interested. Will is healing very slowly still in a ton of pain and lots of sleepless nights. He will be going through extensive therapy as his back is very messed up and part of his spin is pushed in. We where able to pull the go fund me money that you all where so generous and caring to give us which allowed us to pay some bills that where due. We still have no clue how to get another vehicle or even remotely afford one but somehow sometime I’m sure we will figure something out. Sadly bills are money eaters and we are right back to where we were but no matter where we are at through this tragic time we are so insanely great full for all of your guys help!! It truly means the world to us and makes me wanna cry!! ❤️❤️❤️ you all are so amazing and I wish I could meet you all! We will definitely pay this all forward when we get back on our feet!❤️ and I hope we can one day meet the families of the kids who passed and give them our biggest condolences and continued support! It’s been amazing being able to talk to them and support each other through all of this even though it’s only over phone❤️ thank you again too everyone who has supported us and cared about us! I honestly didn’t know strangers would be so supportive and amazing!❤️

We are struggling to find an attorney and are trying to deal with our insurance company. It’s going to be An extremely hard and long process especially because of a situation we are having to deal with with the driver of the car. We are really struggling extremely badly and are now down to our last couple 100$ which is making us very nervous. I am having a very hard time falling asleep and staying asleep as my mind has not stopped racing since this happened. My boyfriend is doing a little better but is still in a ton of pain and will be dealing with a long process of doctors appointments and chiropractor appointments to fix how bad his back is and a long recovery for his mental help as he is completely torn about the two kids that have died and and can’t stop replaying it all in his head. It hurts me so bad seeing him feel so guilty for something he did not cause. It’s going to be an extremely long and hard road for a very long time and we already have bills piled up significantly. But with that said I wanna say I am so extremely great full for every donation and every share!! ❤️ It is absolutely amazing knowing that complete strangers are so caring and willing to help out a family in need! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I wish I could meet everyone and thank you all in person! (I would probably cry!)
