In Honor of Vanessa Marcotte

We are shocked and saddened by Vanessa's unexpected death. The love and support we've received has been tremendous and we can't thank you enough. This Go Fund Me page is dedicated to Vanessa's favorite causes.
Vanessa was incredibly smart, kind, ambitious, and optimistic. She loved running, practicing yoga, cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time on the beach in Cape Cod and Florida. She was truly a beautiful person, inside and out. Above all, Vanessa loved giving back to the community and enjoyed spending her free time tutoring, mentoring, and teaching underprivileged children in Boston and New York City. In the winter of 2015, Vanessa was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and had to dramatically change her daily lifestyle. Although this was a difficult time, she exhibited an inspiring amount of courage and strength. One of her life ambitions was to support and contribute toward finding a cure for Crohn's.

About Me/How the funds will be donated:
I'm Vanessa's cousin, Caroline Tocci, and I'm from Leominster, MA. I set up this account to honor Vanessa's memory and help others contribute to Vanessa's favorite causes. The funds from this GoFundMe will be sent directly to Rossana Marcotte, Vanessa's mother. After we're done raising money on the GoFundMe, we will donate the money to Tutoring Plus, The Matt Light Foundation for Crohn's Disease, Harlem Grown, SPAM Benevolent Fund, and Foundation Marie Haiti. We're also in the process of setting up a 501(c) Vanessa Marcotte Foundation to promote female safety awareness.
