Vance Lefort is an incredible husband, father, son, friend, coach, co-worker and a significant part of the Fort Collins community.  He went to High School at Loveland High and after graduation attended CSU on a football scholarship.  Vance's passion for football continues today as he invests in the lives of student athletes at Fossil Ridge High School.  He has helped coach football faithfully since 2005.

Vance is in a literal fight for his life!  After struggling with complications and several different treatment scenarios, he found out in early August that he has stomach cancer.

Vance has been a dear friend of mine since 2003.  He needs our help!  His cancer is preventing him from being able to work at Walker, where he has faithfully invested himself since graduating from CSU over 30 years ago.  Their financial needs are significant!  From the regular expenses of living, to their daughters school bills at UNC, and the mounting medical bills, WE CAN HELP!

Vance & Kelly (his wife) have made a difference in so many people's lives!  Now it's our chance to help them.  So will you please donate what you can and make sure to keep Vance and his family in your prayers!

You can also help by leveraging your social media for good by sharing this page with everyone you know!

Thank you!

Team Lefort...

First of all thank you so much for your prayers and concern.

The surgery did not go as well as we hoped, but was also not as bad as it could have been.

Let me explain:

Dr. Grotz was unable to do all of the work on Vance's stomach he had planned. He did the very best he could, but ultimately Vance's previous surgeries resulted in an inordinate amount of scar tissue, preventing him from being able to operate as he had planned. As you would assume this was very disappointing.

However, the good news is that there was no evidence of Vance's cancer spreading. PRAISE GOD FOR THAT!!

There are a couple procedures Vance needs to have completed prior to heading home, and is currently getting one of those done right now. There is another meeting with Dr. Grotz this afternoon, we should know some more then.

Vance is in good spirits and inspiringly optimistic. Kelly and the kids are doing well also. However, Vance is pretty sore from this last surgery, so please continue to pray.

Thanks again for caring the way you do.

I will update when I know more!

Team Lefort,

I just got off the phone with Vance & Kelly - BIG DAY TOMORROW!

They just learned that they need to check into the hospital at 9:00 (Central Time) to prep for the surgery. It is likely that the surgery will start at 11ish. Obviously there are a lot of variables that can affect the exact time, but those are the details we have right now.

As you would imagine there is both a sense of readiness and apprehension. We all feel it. There is really no way to know much more until Dr. Grotz is able to see what’s up first-hand.

This will be a lengthy, tedious surgery, so will you please pray tonight as well as tomorrow that all goes well. I’m still praying Dr. Grotz can’t find ANY cancer when they get in there.

If you would please also set an alarm to be praying at 11:00 Central Time I know Vance would really appreciate it!

Your prayers and concern mean more than you know!

I will update with more details as soon as we learn more!

Let’s Pray!!

Hey Team Lefort -

Just wanted to give you a quick update. Vance and Kelly leave this Sunday, May 5th, to head back to the Mayo Clinic!! It has been a crazy ride to FINALLY get to the OFFICIAL surgery date.

LOTS OF WAITING and LOTS OF EMOTIONS!! Praise God everything is a good to go, and we are all ready for Vance to get this surgery in the rear-view-mirror.

Monday, May 6th, will be another round of pre-ops and at some point on Monday they will be given the exact time for Vance's surgery. Dr. Grotz has cleared his schedule for Vance's procedure on the 7th and it is likely he will have a relatively early check-in.

Jonah and Tavia will leave to head back to MN on Monday as well.

I will send out an update on the specifics as soon as we know.

In the meantime please keep them in your prayers for health and strength heading into Tuesdays surgery. Please also pray for peace! To say this has been a journey would be an understatement! I was in MN with them last time and it was a super emotional few days for sure.

Also, if you haven't, or if you are able, this process has been very challenging financially. That is obviously the purpose of this website. To help offset some of these expenses!

The last trip to Mayo was for ten days, and as you know the surgery didn't happen. This paved the way for this next rather unexpected trip. It is likely they will be there at least this long again, and the travel costs alone have really added up. If there is a way you can help, especially if you haven't yet, just know ANYTHING HELPS!! If we all do our part we can be a blessing in a BIG WAY!

Also, if you haven't, will you please post this on your personal social media sites and share Vance's story with your network. This is another way we can help in spreading the word.

Finally, please set an alarm to be praying on Tuesday!! This is the most important thing we can do!

As always, thanks for following the Leforts on this journey. Your support, prayers, notes, texts, emails and financial gifts mean more than you know!!

We are getting closer to that surgery date!

On behalf of the Lefort family - just know you are appreciated!!
