Van for Shayla Strong
Donation protected
Shayla is a 7-year-old girl who has had a rough start to life. After being born 9 weeks early, Shayla suffered from a stroke causing her to have cerebral palsy and cortical visual impairment. Shayla has undergone multiple surgeries already including surgery on her eyes and legs, she will need more in the future. Due to her lack of muscle control she is bound to her wheelchair for mobility and independence. Her family is in need of a wheelchair accessible van to transport her to her many therapies, and doctors appointments, along with regular family outings. Unfortunately the cost of these modified vehicles is much more then typical vehicles, putting the monthly payments for an extended 10 year loan close to $600 a month. Her family cannot afford these payments, They live off of one income because her mother cannot work due to her extensive needs and appointments. They have already had to stop her hippo therapy ( this is physical therapy on horse back and is Shayla's favorite thing to do) due to trying to save money for this van. They are also hosting many fundraisers and have set up this go fund me page to help with these expenses. Please help in any way you can and lets get this girl a van!!
