Valerie Rose surgery in Honduras

Donation protected
Valerie has been working this summer in Honduras painting murals for customers and also painting murals for no charge at the local schools in Roatan working with the children.  The last week before flying back to Colorado to teach art, Valerie began suffering from symptoms most likely related to some shallow water diving she was doing. The complications have progressed to the point where she is requiring angiopraphy and possible angioplasty after being transferred from the Coast to a hospital in San Pedro Sula. For non-citizens, medical procedures in Honduras are very expensive and are not performed until all money is paid in advance and/or guaranteed by a bonafide third party. The initial tally of expected cost for medical procedures, hospital stay and other related expenses was expected to be near $14,000 in USdollars.  Any donation towards this total would be greatly appreciated.  This Gofundme campaign was set up at the request of Valerie Rose and David "Lee" Cherry, Jr. who is the boyfriend and traveling companion of Valerie Rose and is being administered by David Lee Cherry and Frances Cherry (parents of Lee) who live in Beaufort, SC. The Cherry family have been in direct contact throughout this  with ordeal with Medical Clinic staff, Honduran expatriots in Beaufort who have advocated on behalf of Valerie with Honduran Nationals, Hospital Staff, and United States Embassy Staff stationed in Honduras.  The funds raised from this campaign will be used to pay medical bills due to Doctors and Hospitals, pay for ambulance services, and Clinic staff and for prescription medications. Payment of these bills in the country of Honduras is very complicated and requires use of credit cards, wire transfers and various forms of guarantee from Honduran nationals and US citizens. To say it is very complicated is an understatement.  Your donations make it possible, with the families' help, to allow Valerie to continue to get the medical care, procedures and medicine she needs to fully recover. Further complicating matters is the fact that Valerie cannot fly in a plane for a period of time so the medical care in Honduras is the only care she has available to her at the present time. Thank you so much for your generosity and continued prayers for Valerie's full recovery.
