Steve Messiter's Cancer Relief Fund

Steve has worked  as a math teacher for almost 30 years. He had to quick teaching to focus on his health.

In September 2015, he was dianosed with stage IV Metastic Melanoma.  He had Melanoma almost five years ago, where he had 2 surgeries to remove his lymph nodes in his leg.  The Melanoma returned and spread to his brain.

Steve had Cyperknife Radiation followed by Brain Surgery in October 2015 to remove the tumor.  While the recovery was difficult, the Surgery was successful.

Due to several small tumors in the body following brain surgery, he underwent 4 rounds of Immunotherapy treatment which had several side effects and left him with damage to his pituary gland.

In February 2016 he started another Immunotherapy which has a very high success rate of treating any seen and unseen tumors that may be present in the body.  As he has several tumors throughout his body this is thought to be the best treatment.

While his family continues to remain positive regarding his physical outlook, their finances have taken a hit.  The funds raised here will be used to help with co-pays,  coinsurance, deductibles, car repairs and other transportation expenses to and from the hospital.

Any support would be greatly appreciated. Many of you have told me you like the updates and would like me to keep the campaign open longer.  So we will keep the campaign going as long as we can.  Thanks so much.
