On Friday, March 18th Monique Thompson Philio, a loving hard working mother of four was shot to death, in her home in front of her daughter by her ex-husband.  This senseless act and "horrific" violence against a mother has torn a family a part.  We will never begin to understand why as a National we cannot beat the odds of domestic violence against women.  This coward less act taken by this man will forever be embedded in the children's lives he has  destroyed. To the children: Jharde, Jarius, Reggie Jr. And Kristoffer, know that your mother loved you dearly and you will always be in her heart.

The family, friends and love ones of Monique (aka) "Mo" have been destroyed and devastated at the lost of their beloved mother, child and wonderful friend.  If you have ever had the opportunity to meet Mo, and had to describe her, the results would be, happy, friendly, compassionate, loving, unselfish and a heart of gold.  

Loosing her has left a tremendous void and empty spot in the hearts of many.  We will never understand why GOD calls us home, but we know the Heavenly Father has her in his hands and she has earned her wings.  

While we have made progress against domestic violence against women, the laws need to change when it comes to protecting our women from men that DON'T WANT TO LET GO!!!!!!  Life is to short to live in fear after a divorce.  Monique's daughter is now left with no health benefits,because it was her mother that provided for her...NOT HIM!!!!

We THANK GOD for the love and support for Monique's friends, family, employer Parallon Workforce Solution, her Kingwood Medical Center HCA extended family and everyone who has sent words of love expression, gratitude and condolences.  While the lost of Mo will continue to be a painful journey to healing, I truly believe God does not put more on you than you can handle...let the healing begin.
