Josiah's Field
In this brief moment of peace Amanda and I wanted to share with the rest of our family and friends our news. On the morning of the 18th of May at our routine OB appointment, our lives changed forever. After working the weekend, and baby hiccuping so Amanda couldn’t fall asleep Sunday night, we went in for Amanda’s weekly appointment. At this time she was 40 weeks and 2 days pregnant. However at the appointment a heartbeat couldn’t be heard. After two ultrasounds to confirm, our sweet baby Josiah David went to the Lord during the night of the 18th. Amanda was induced and was in labor for 15 hours. At 6:41am on May 19th we met Our Angel Josiah. He head a full head of hair, weighed 10 lbs 4oz and blue eyes just like his big brother Jonah. He was 24 inches long. With our immediate family and members of our church family, Josiah was baptized in the name of the Lord. Amanda and I were blessed to have Josiah in our presence for the day of the 19th. During these two days, which have been the most difficult and saddest of our lives we have been overwhelmed by the support and love from family, friends, church family, co-workers and neighbors.
We've been searching for a way for those who've wanted to reach out to us. In lieu of gifts or flowers we plan on reviving the nearby baseball field at Nehls Park in our hometown of New Ulm, MN.
This is a place where Amanda and I both learned to play baseball and softball, and now our son Jonah loves to play there too. However, it is in disrepair and much need of revival. With the pending approval and permission of the city of New Ulm we hope to raise money to make this a wonderful little field where not only our son Jonah can play ball with angel brother Josiah, but a place where families can make their own lasting memories from years to come.
For now pray for us and our family, that the Lord’s peace will be with us. We know our Angel is with his Father in Heaven and will move forward from here will the love and support all that you have and continue to share. Thank you for being with us throughout this difficult journey and God Bless
Daniel, Amanda, Jonah and Angel Josiah Vetter.
