Detective Frank Fernandez sadly passed away the morning of February 14th after being involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Frankie was a super smart, undyingly loyal, hysterically funny, and faithful friend.
Frankie was always first to step up to assist in fundraisers, first to brainstorm ideas on how to raise money for Fallen Officers, and worked tirelessly for many many charities.
Frankie was a well respected Detective with the Yonkers Police Department. His passing is a major loss to the YPD family. He loved being a Police Officer. He was at every Union meeting, every cops funeral (near or far), every rally, every fundraiser, every EVERYTHING. He organized charity events, poker tournaments and parties.
Most of all Frankie was a loving husband to his wife Alex and it was clear to anyone paying attention that he was still very much head over heels in love with Alex. Frankie was an amazing father to his two sons. He loved David and Danny more than life itself.
Frankie was truly a beautiful human being. He was a genuine person with a huge heart. I'm asking everyone to please help his family with funeral costs and other expenses. They have a lot on their plate and any help would be appreciated. Any additional money raised will go to a scholarship fund for David and Danny.
Frankie was always there for everyone and now it's time that we step up and be there for him and his family.
