Please help us hold up Kristy and her family, as they are reeling from the sudden loss of her husband, best friend and soul mate of over 23 years Dave Desmarais. Kristy's mom is the late Kathy Nelson, eldest daughter of the late hereditary Chief Leslie from the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw and the late Mae Nelson, Tahlan First Nation from Telegraph Creek.
Kristy and Dave grew up in Campbell River and raised their three wonderful children there. Anyone who knew Dave knew him as a dedicated husband, a loving father, a loyal friend and of course an avid Vancouver Canucks Fan. The family recently relocated to Abbotsford for Dave’s work. However, now in his passing Kristy is hoping to bring him back to Campbell River to hold the funeral in the place he called home.
The expense associated with transporting Dave and the cost of the services are daunting. This is a tragic time for the whole family and they are in need of financial assistance as they will have many unexpected expenses coming their way. Dealing with a sudden death is hard enough, let alone having to worry about how to pay for bills, rent, food, gas, etc.
In addition to all of these expenses, the family will have the added expenses of relocating back to Campbell River as soon as possible to be closer to their support network.
