School Viciously Vandalized

This past Memorial Day weekend, Linda Verde Elementary was broken into  AGAIN.  Our students had been working hard collecting money for our ASB (Associated Student Body) fund through a Penny War.  Unfortunately, all of the fundraising money was stolen and the majority of our classrooms were vandalized.  Linda Verde is located in one of the lowest income areas of Los Angeles.  Over 90% of our students receive Free/Reduced lunches because they are living below the poverty line.  For many of our students, bringing in coins from home was a lot to ask but they made it happen because they are dedicated to their school.  Because of our lack of a strong PTA presence, these students are not able to attend the same amount of field trips and organize the type of school activities and events that students from higher-income areas are able to benefit from.  We are asking for your help to replace the money these children worked SO hard to collect.  The money collected would be used for fieldtrips, student activities, and school events.
