The ASU NYSP Program

Hello. My name is Jesse Massey, the liaison officer, for The ASU NYSP Program. I am in desperate need for your help in order to keep this program running for this summer and several summers to come.  The ASU NYSP Program is designed to provide disadvantage youth an opportunity that virtually every parent desires to give their children in the formative years of their lives. The program has served over 25,000 children from 1975-2015 from Dougherty, Lee, Mitchell, Terrell, and Worth Counties. The program has provided economically disadvantage boys and girls, ages 9-15, the opportunity to participate in sports instruction and enrichment programs. In addition to receiving high quality instruction in competitive and lifetime sports, the children participate in daily enrichment sessions on drug-abuse prevention, health and nutrition, higher education, as well as discussion topics such as HIV/AIDS, teen pregnancy and study skills. I have been working with the program for all 40 years of its existence. This program means a lot to me because it’s vital for the disadvantage youth and it is a great way to keep kids off the street and out of trouble. In 2013, due to lack of funding,  For the past couple years, we have struggled funding the program, so now, in 2016, we are asking for your help. The funds will go to the ASU Foundation to help the program stay running and to keep children in a safer environment in the summer months. Many of you have heard or even been a child in this program some time in your life. It would be of great honor for you to give back to an amazing program.
