Save my wife

On January 9th  2016, I came home from a playing a gig at a local pub at about 2am in the morning . I quietly snuck into bed and kissed my wife Sherie good night, she jolted up muttering frantically about a strange nightmare and weird headache that she had and then went back to sleep. In the morning I woke with sherie at the same time to look after our 10 month old daughter for the morning, while sherie went to work at the salon we owned in town. But sherie started saying that she didn't feel well, she was slurring and struggling to walk and get ready for work. With the memory of her mentioning that she had felt "not right" the last few days I was a little concerned and then when she started talking about the pain from a pressure in her head, I became concerned and organised my mother in-law to come around and take her to the hospital while I stayed home and looked after our 10 month old daughter.

For the next few days, she was sent to 3 different hospital and her condition rapidly deteriorated until finally after several hospitals and doctors later we had found out that she had had a stroke  caused by a brain cavernous hermangioma located in her cerebellar. This is where it all started to fall apart. Sherie was in hospital for the next few weeks before she was finally moved into a rehab. this whole time not really having any solution to the illness we kinda just continued attempt to live life as best we could. We had been told not to worry by the doctors that Sherie's chances of having another stroke again where very slim.

In May 2016, Sherie tried to get back to work and finally felt like things may get back to normal. Pushing herself to the point of near exhaustion, she attempted to remain the caring mother provider and wife I was lucky to have. Unable to provide the business with the level of management she was before the stroke, we decided we had to sell our Hairdressing business of 5 years in July 2016. On August the 1st 2016, the day of the settlement, Sherie suffered a second stroke, a further bleed from the cavernoma. This time, we knew what was going on and told the doctors at the hospital. Sherie went back to hospital and further rehab. Sherie was left with more deficits than she had after her first stroke.

A few months had passed and Sherie had returned to her what had become her new 'normal' and we had the amazing news that sherie had fallen pregnant and we where going to have our second child! We were absolutely stoked after a horrific start to the year that there was something positive in our lives. Unfortunately in October 2016, we had a miss carriage and lost the baby . After the miscarriage in November 2016, Sherie found another job in the hairdressing industry she loved. Everything was going well, she was working, on medication daily to help with her symptoms and woking within her limit's.

Unfortunately in March 2017, this year, Sherie had another stroke a further bleed from the cavernoma. Her deficits became stronger and could no longer work. Sherie resigned from her job in May 2017and we moved into my in-law's house as we couldn't afford to live on the one wage as well as Sherie struggling to care for our 2 year old daughter.

At this point, Sherie continues to have debilitating deficits, which include:
*body tremors
*headaches every day
*dizziness
*exhaustion
*flickering vision
*nausea
*feeling of being tipsy
* cronic pain in her head akin to a nonstop migraine

The neurosurgeon's she has been seeing over the past 18month's, felt they should take a wait and see what happens approach. The Cavernoma is in a dangerous area of the brain and they don't want to risk Sherie becoming disabled. The catch is, that the cavernoma , if it bleed's again could cause disablement where Sherie will be in a wheel chair for the rest of her life or worse kill her.

Then one day we had a friend mention a famous neurosurgeon by the name of Dr Charlie Teo. Our friend told us that he performs surgeries on people that have been told they were inoperable. We looked into article's and videos on Dr Charlie Teo and his success stories, giving people a second chance at life. The stories were giving us hope. Sherie contacted Dr Charlie Teo's rooms In July 2017 which are located at the Prince of Whales Private Hospital in Sydney. She sent a letters telling her story and her illness history aswell as her MRI's.

Just 4 days after sending everything to Dr Charlie Teo's rooms, they contacted Sherie to say they wanted to meet her the following week and that she is a great candidate for surgery. THERE WAS HOPE.

So myself, Sherie and her mum jumped on a plane to Sydney from Melbourne to meet Charlie. Right away we felt so comfortable. Charlie was such a realistic, down to earth man. He felt that he could easily remove the cavernoma from her cerebellum with a 50/50 chance of Sherie needing rehabilitation afterwards. This was thrilling news. Dr Charlie Teo also said Sherie needs this surgery urgently. Especially because Sherie has already had multiple bleeds, the needs bleed could end her life.

Unfortunately because Charlie is based at Prince of Whales Private Hospital, and we do not have private health insurance, this surgery is going to cost $100,000.00.

We need these funds urgently so we can get Sherie up to Sydney to have her life saving surgery. I want my wife to still be here to see our 2 year old daughter grow, i want to grow old with her, i want to have more children with her and be a real family again. I want to see Sherie happy, healthy and be her old self again.

Although Sherie will be left with the deficits she already has, she will still be here to live her life with her family and friend's.  Please help me save my wife. there is not much i can offer you in return other than as many updates on the situation and my eternal gratitude. you are just helping her you helping me keeep the love of my life alive and giveing my perfect kid the change to grow up knoing her mother.
