Hello, my name is Justin Gonzalez. I am a regular guy from New York City and I'm tyring to do something that will not only save the enviornment but something that will help change people's outlook on life. Now I know this is a long shot but hey, let's see where it goes and hopefully the outcome will be a great one.
It all started with my friend and his mention of a website:Waitbutwhy and the main writer, Tim Urban. My friend, his name is Patrick, basically told me to read about this man, Elon Musk. This was someone whom I had heard little to nothing about beforehand; but this man would soon become such a large part of my late teenage life. It started simple enough, I continued to scoure waitbutwhy, reading all of the different articles that Tim Urban had written (there are four parts to his posts about Elon Musk) and building a foundation as to what is really going on in the world of Elon Musk and everything that he is doing. To continue to build on my knowledge, Patrick mentioned a book about Elon, a biography written by Ashley Vance. This book changed my views on more than just the world that we live in. It gave me a glimpse at what can be possible for the world if everyone sees the opportunity that is available.
Now, if you really want to learn about Elon Musk and what he is doing to save humanity, then I strongly urge you to read both the posts and the the biography written about what he is doing. But the reason for this gofundme is for a Tesla; one of Tesla Motor's electric cars that will one day (hopefully) be the standard car that is out on the road.
This electric car has become my dream to own. It peaks on the safety meter, the asthetic appeal is almost unmatched, and the Tesla has zero emissions; making it not only key for the enviornment but also saves money. Since the car is electric, it will ultimately saves thousands of dollars from would-be-gas stops. I could go on and on about how Tesla will one day be the standard and how everyone should switch, but again, I strongly implore everyone to take a few minutes and read through the aforementioned postings.
This is a project that I have already begun working on. I hope to achieve my goal of owning a Tesla within the next couple of years (hopefully sooner) but it all starts with one step at a time. If I ever reach my goal, I intend on hand writting thank you notes to whomever donates, no matter what amount. Words cannot begin to express how happy I will be if I do ever reach my goal. This is definitely a long shot. But I guess we will see where it goes. My goal is to get a Tesla but this is only part one of my way of making a mark on the world. I see this as a stepping stone and I hope that it eventually takes me to the top.
