USPS Lost My Package
Donation protected
My name is Sarah Mancini and I am a full-time college student at the University of Connecticut, on top of this I run my own business creating mascot costumes ("fursuits") as a living.
Unfortunately, I have run into an accident that leaves me no choice but to create this campaign to help recuperate lost funds as the United States Postal Service refuses to repay me for a one-of-a-kind costume they lost. I refunded my client as this is neither of our faults, however I cannot afford to take such a loss as I am paying for myself to attend college and deserve to be paid for lost work.
Screenshots and proof are below. Thank you in advance to everyone who shares this or donates, it means the world to me that someone would take time to help me out. I appreciate it immensely!

On April 1st, 2018 I opened for and sent out emails to new clients as I was accepting commissions. My client agreed to pay the amount of $2,230 for a full partial costume (head, hands, feet, tail, arm sleeves).

Proof of payment below.

On August 25th, 2018 the costume was completed and shipped out. It was sent through USPS Priority 2-day mail and was due to arrive on August 27th, 2018. The package, a 16x15x14 box, came insured and a tracking number was provided to my client.

As of August 30th, 2018 the package has been MIA. It was last seen at the Springfield Distribution Facility in Springfield, MA. I have made numerous calls to USPS, local post offices and tried to reach out to the facility with no luck. No one can tell me where this package is.

I have filed several claims, the most vital one being with the United States Postal Service. I provided screenshots and receipts with proof of purchase, insurance and proof of the item costing $2,230. USPS decided to mail me a check for $70.35, which is a fraction of the cost and does not even cover the amount paid for the fabric for the costume. I have appealed twice to receive a larger amount of compensation and been rejected.

As of September 22nd, 2018 I made my final calls to the USPS customer service hotline and local post offices, grasping for one last attempt at finding the package to no avail.
I refunded my client for $2,150, sans $80 as he received the tail for the costume in person at my Anthrocon vendors booth in Pittsburgh, PA on July 6th.

And that's it, really. No one knows where the box with the yellow dog fursuit is. USPS refuses to help me out any further, let alone repay me for the item that they lost, and now I am out countless hours of work.
Thank you so much for reading my story, again, shares are immensely appreciated and donations of any amount would mean the world to me.
