Urgent Medical Equipment+CarRepairs/transportation

Donation protected
My name is Aiden, I am 23 years old and I am disabled and unable to work due to Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and a few other chronic illnesses. I will include links that explain those conditions, but I am making this fundraiser to raise money for medical equipment that I will need for a surgery on April 15th, 2019, along with car repairs so that I will have reliable transportation to doctors appointments, post-op appointments, and physical therapy after surgery.

On March 4th, 2019 I tripped while walking down the stairs outside of our apartment. I dislocated my knee very badly and had to call an ambulance. The doctors tried to reduce the dislocation but they could not, so I was put in a brace and sent home to follow up with an orthopedic doctor. Soon after my Emergency Department visit i got in to see an orthopedic doctor on March 6th. He ordered an MRI and looked at my knee, confirming that I was going to need surgery. At this point and up until now, I could not move my leg or put any pressure on it at all without it slipping out of place again. The only way I regain full use of my leg is with surgery.
I had my MRI and then met with an orthopedic surgeon next. Due to multiple factors, including deformities to my knee and tibia that I was born with and damage from multiple past dislocations due to my Ehlers Danlos, I am going to need a very major surgery. He is going to need to do a tibial tubercle osteotomy, along with replacing and repairing some ligaments and using a metal plate and screws to add stability, along with moving some muscle from my upper leg to down around my knee. I will be in a type of brace/cast for 12 weeks (3 months) and a full recovery is expected to take at least 9 months.

On top of this, the used car that my partner and i just bought on Feb. 6th 2019 for $2,300, using multiple loans and her entire tax return, broke down and needs about $1,500 worth of work. This is a major problem because I will need reliable transportation to appointments for pre-op testing, post-op follow ups, emergency visits if any complications arise and physical therapy at least 3 times a week starting a few weeks after surgery. My partner also needs the car to get to and from work, because she is working full time 50 hour weeks to support us due to my inability to work, and we are still paying off the loans we needed to take out.

The medical equipment I will need that I cannot get covered by insurance in time for surgery:
-A wheelchair, especially for the first 5 or 6 months, so I can get around. While my left knee is injured right now, my right knee is also not doing good due to my EDS so I cannot rely on that leg to support me while I recover.
-A shower chair, because I will be unable to stand to shower.
-A recliner, because I will be unable to sleep in bed for at least 2 months after surgery.
-Safety bars that we can put in the shower so i will have something to grab onto.
-More compression socks to prevent blood clots

There will probably be more that I need as I learn more about what to expect during recovery, and I will update here as I find out.

Additionally I will need to buy some items to care for myself when I am not able to move around very much for a few weeks, and I will need to buy some easy to prepare food or some things that I can keep within arms reach.

All donations are greatly appreciate and will go directly to the cost of medical equipment and self care items that I will need as well as car repairs or the cost of transportation to and from appointments. Thank you for reading.
