urgent care for dog in car crash
Me and my baby girl were in a car accident on Sept. 16, 2018. My injuries included... Bleeding on the brain, broken spleen, punctured lungs, fractured eye socket, multiple fractures in the face, broken nose, broken cheekbone and still in the process of healing. I was on a breathing machine and sedated for 2-3 days while in medical ICU.
The day of the accident Marleigh went missing. We searched the area for two weeks, put out signs, and even had some calls that she was spotted in the area. Tonight, Monday Oct. 1st, 2018 I got the call that someone had her. I went immediately to their house which took me over an hour to get there. When we confirmed it was her, I noticed that she couldn't move her back end or walk. So, my mom (who went with me) carried her to the car. I am in need of donations to get my baby girl back to health. Since I'm still recovering and have not been released from my doctor to go back to work, I don't have the funds to help her so I need yours please. Thank you so much for your help and support!!!
Update: Last night Marleigh was seen at UGA and already has a bill of $800.00 This is before medical treatment and surgeries which can cost up to an additional $8,000 or more because they have already started her on pain management until I get the funds to pay for her surgery. She is stable and is currently on pain meds but Marleigh has a broken spine which is their main concern right now and will focus on other procedures as needed. Thank you again for all of the donations already made and the prayers already said.
Updated post made by older sister...Here's the latest update on Marleigh for those following her and my sisters story. My sister went to go see Marleigh during visitation time and spoke with the doctors and physical therapist. She showed Amber how to massage Marleigh and start physical therapy at home. Once her back heals, which should be between 6-8 weeks, then they will go over a plan for physical therapy which she will need. No sure at this point how much that’s going to cost but I’m assuming it’s going to be a pretty good amount. But, this will help her walk again whether that be with a wheelchair or on her own legs depending on how therapy goes and how her body heals. This too can get expensive, so your prayers and donations are still appreciated. Thank you to those who have already donated and prayed because it’s been extremely helpful. Marleigh was released to go home today and she’s resting so much better already. Here are some pictures of her.
Here's the latest update on Marleigh. I just spoke with my sister and after they have re-examined Marleigh and her test results, it was determined that whether the surgery was performed or not it most likely would yield the same results. That she will most likely never walk again. So, where we are right now is to allow her spine to heal by giving her medication to keep her happy in her current state and to allow for her spine to actually heal on its own instead of surgery. What does this mean? Healing does not mean cured, or repaired. She will no longer be able to walk again without a wheelchair or doggy rehabilitation. She is not able to control her bowels and will require diapers and help from my sister by pushing on her bladder to help release her fluids. Amber is 100% dedicated to taking care of her baby girl for her lifetime but will take a village of donations since she is not working and has not been released to work yet. Marleigh remains at UGA receiving treatment and being monitored. There has been an estimate of 8 weeks before she's at the point that she can get herself in a wheelchair so that the spine is not in danger. With that said, Marleigh will need to go to doggy rehab to learn to walk again with her new set of wheels. I hope this info helps you as far as how her fur baby is doing. Thank you again for all of the prayers and donations because this journey isn't over yet and anything helps. I have lowered the goal amount since surgery is not needed but we aren't sure what the future holds with Marleigh's rehab cost just yet so donations are still appreciated. Thank you again!
