On Saturday, May 25th 2019 the Gonzalez family lost three of it's beloved family members, Augie, Noelle(6) and Gwen(2). Augie is a Major in the United States Army and has lived in Cary, NC while he completed his Masters in Public Policy at Duke University.  Melissa was a 2nd grade teacher at Horton's Creek Elementary until Gabriel was born, this past March, and Nick and Noelle both atteneded school there as well.  Gwen was in school at Kiddie Academy in Cary.  Augie had just celebrated his graduation and was on his way to Fort Carson, Colorado Springs to take new orders when the unthinkable happened.

Shortly before 8 p.m., Kentucky State Police received a phone call about a crash that involved a van and a tow truck. Preliminary investigation revealed Augie was driving southbound on I-65 when he struck a tow truck that was stopped in the roadway assisting with a crash. Augie didn't see the truck and hit its rear end. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Passenger Noelle Gonzalez, 6, was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A second passenger, Gwendolyn Gonzalez, 2, was flown to Norton Children's Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Nick Gonzalez (8) was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Melissa Gonzalez, Augie's wife and thier newborn son, Gabriel, were in the air on a flight to Colorado Springs when the accident occured.

Please find it in your hearts to help Melissa, Nick and Gabriel as they adjust and share with anyone who would like to contribute.
