Fighting for Nathan

My name is Brianna & I am Nathan's big sister, this Is very hard to do & not easy for our family to ask for help. Things have gotten so hard that I thought I would give this a shot. About 2 years ago our lives were flipped upside when Nathan started showing signs of something we're still unsure of. He was just a regular 16 year old with big plans, he wanted to finish school & one day join the army, which now is not possible. He started by slowly losing his hearing which is almost completely gone now, & about a year ago started having these seizures/strokes which are taking more and more from him everyday. He's not your normal 17 year old boy anymore, he used to be so fun and happy and would do anything to put a smile on your face or make you laugh. Which unfortunately now we don't see alot of anymore because it is so hard for him to communicate. Doctors have been working for so long and doing so many tests to try and figure out what is wrong with him, but still no definite answers. They are almost sure though that it is a mitochondrial disease, which is where the brain basically attacks itself, they can't control these strokes he is having and again it is taking more and more of him away from us everyday. His hearing is almost completely gone, he has a hard time talking/communicating, his vision is starting to be affected and soon he may start to be physically affected, which I hope is a day we never have to face. Anyways im not completely sure how this thing works but im hoping in some way it helps us. Dont get me wrong, my family is getting as much help as the hospital (uofm which is an amazing hospital) can give us but there is only so much they can do. With that being said my mom has a hard time coming up with the money to get back and forth from the hospital , food while she is staying there, parking, and of course medical bills will soon become a reality. Our family has been through so much & im just hoping this gives us some sort of break. Even if you can't donate all love & support is appreciated. Prayers and positive vibes are more than we could ask for, poor Nathan has been through more than a 17 year old boy should ever have to go through and right now he can use all of the support he can get ❤
