Veteran's Tree of Life at UNT
Donation protected
Every day in the United States, since roughly 2012, more US Veterans and Service Members have taken their own lives than have died in combat while our media and elected representatives refuse to acknowledge, address or fix this issue. One veteran takes his or her life every 66 minutes, 23 individuals die each and every day.
Throughout human history, trees have always played an important role in sustaining life, but are also very often used to memorialize lives we have lost.
This fundraiser is intended to help raise about $1500 + fees for GoFundMe to make a donation to the University of North Texas on behalf of the Student Veteran Organization to plant a tree and maintain it for life. This tree will be in memorial to the Post 9-11 veterans we have lost and will continue to lose until we find a way out of this mess. The $1500 donation also includes a personalized plaque that will rest at the foot of the tree for its entire life, emblazoned with the crests of all five branches.
Thank you so much for your consideration. I appreciate it beyond words.
