Unison at CMTF
Donation protected
Unison is a new musical comedy that follows a tight-knit high school wind ensemble infected with a bad outbreak of Senioritis. As deadlines loom one after another, seven seniors struggle to balance band with the intense demands of the college application process. Between audition prep, personal essays, roommate pacts, and Ivy League rejections, everyone’s individual problems pull them away from the group, leaving some students lost along the way. In order to lock in their post-grad plans without destroying their friendships, they’ll have to practice hard, but party harder.
Writer/composer Adina Kruskal and director Mira Lamson Klein are bringing Unison to the Chicago Musical Theater Festival in February 2019, but we need help to make it happen! Every dollar you donate will go towards bringing this piece to life at CMTF. We are raising funds to help us pay for actor and crew salaries, music stands, props, venue fee, marketing, and all of the other costs involved in staging a live musical.
If you support Unison, you are not only supporting new musical theater, you are also supporting emerging artists, including a female writer and director. You'd also be helping this story which deals with important themes such as stress and mental health in teenagers reach a wider audience.
Unison is a show about hard work, overcoming challenges, and the power of friendship, made specially for the band kid in all of us.
