El equipo nacional de baloncesto en uniciclo de Puerto Rico ha creado un legado inigualable. De 13 campeonatos mundiales que hemos participado, hemos sido victoriosos en 10 ocasiones (10 veces campeones mundiales) y hemos llegado sub-campeones en 2 ocasiones. En 29 años (1984 a 2013) solo perdimos dos juegos.
Des-afortunadamente en el 2014 no pudimos llevar el equipo completo al campeonato en Montreal, Canada. Tuvimos un revés y no cualificamos para las semifinales.
En 2016 el campeonato mundial será en San Sebastián, País Vasco (Península Ibérica). Los puertorriqueños nos estamos preparando para reclamar una vez más el título que nos pertenece.
Los gastos de viaje ascienden a $2,000 por participante (aproximadamente). Para llevar el equipo de 10 personas (incluyendo al entrenador), necesitamos $20,000.
Humildemente solicitamos su donativo para levantar $5,000 a través de esta campaña. Esto nos ayudará a costear los pasajes, inscripciones, comidas, hospedajes y otros gastos.

Hi,
My name is Javier Ruiz and I am a member of the "Puerto Rico All-Star Unicycling Basketball Team". We have created a legacy, and have been very proud to bring glory to Puerto Rico.
We are 10 times world champions!
Out of 13 international competitions where we have participated, we have won 10 times (gold medals), and received two silver medals. That means that in 29 years (1984 to 2013) we only lost 2 games on world events.
Unfortunately, last year (2014) we couldn't bring the whole team to the championship, and we didn't qualified for semifinals. We got 6th place.

The next Unicycling Convention and Championship (UNICON 18) will be in San Sebastian, Basque Country (Spain), and will be held on July/August, 2016
The Puerto Rican (unicyling basketball) National Team is getting ready to compete again (with a full team) and claim our title once more. We'll do our best to become world champions again.
In order to cover the travel expenses we need to raise $2,000 for every team member. The biggest expense is the airfare. We expect to bring 10 members so we need about $20,000 for the whole team.
Timetable:
Within the next 30 days (by mid-December) the registration for the event shall be submitted.
By early January, 2016, we shall have our airplane tickets purchased (to make sure that the airfare doesn't go up too much).
A few months before the event (May/June, 2016) we need to get the uniforms and tune-up the equipment (unicycles).
In order to get all the funds to buy the airplane tickets, am requesting your cooperation. Please give us a donation to help us take care of the expenses. It can be as small as $5 or as big as $100, it doesn't matter. It will help us get there and represent our beautiful island.
The money collected will be shared with the team members. We want to make sure that all our team can be present when we need them the most.
