Educate Indigenous in Congo

Providing access to education for 70 indigenous students in Congo:

The indigenous, or native, of Congo, more commonly referred to as “Pygmy”, have been the target of discrimination for years.  These people live in extreme poverty; they cannot afford even the most basic of health care services.  Pygmy children do not have access to formal education and are much more likely to die at a very young age than their peers; just over half live to the age of 15 and some Pygmy groups are considered to be endangered.  We cannot rely on the corrupt government of Congo to make any significant changes within indigenous communities to improve the lives of these people.  Educating the children of Congo is the key component to their survival as a people and quite possibly their only hope.

Earlier this year, we launched a humanitarian-sponsored fundraiser to acquire the funds necessary to send 70 indigenous children, living in Bambama, Republic of Congo, to school.  Tuition for each student is $5.00 per month for nine months, so $350.00 in total for all 70 students for the first month.  They will also need school supplies for a total cost of about $1,100.00 and about half of the students will need the required school uniform which will be an additional cost of approximately $800.00.  In total, we will to need to raise an estimated $3.500.00 to cover 4 months the expenses necessary to send these 70 children to school.  This total also includes transportation costs.

We will have an additional $1500.00 fundraiser campaign after the report of the first semester.

Classes begin on October 2nd, 2017 in Bambama.  If we do not intervene by October 15th, 70 indigenous children will be given the opportunity to go to school like they so deserve.  Let’s make a difference in these children’s lives and help them get an education.  Let’s give them hope; let’s give them a better chance at life.  These young lives are literally in our hands.

We guarantee to share student’s academic progress throughout the school year.  Please, anything you can do to help these underprivileged children is welcome and will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
