Story Overview
Brooke and Bryan Cord begin a marriage their friends call a good start. But before their first anniversary things go south. And it only takes one event to send them into a spin. Love turns to hate. The problem isn’t infidelity. Worse. The ghosts of Brooke's teenage years are real. Painful memories become hurdles to present relationships. What would it be like to know she’s loved? Valued. For who she is. Brooke dares to hope against hope that there is one who’s worthy of all her trust. All of her.
Brian Cord thinks he’s found the perfect woman, only to come up against the wall of Brooke’s anger built so high for so long. How did he become the target of her fury? He can’t find the key to open her heart. And he wonders if she’s worth the search.
Travis and Carly Edgerton were at one time examples of great spouses, great parents. But traumas from covert junkets to places unknown have changed the middle-aged couple. Once happy, now secretive, they conceal their recent past. But sudden fits of aggression can’t be kept hidden.
