Ultra 7 Continents
Hi, my name is Adrian Kent and this is a short story of what I'm planning in 2018...
The story is based around two great charities that are close to my heart, the first being Cancer Research UK and then also Central Beacons Mountain Rescue team.

The Charities
The former is close to my heart as I myself have had cancer and all the treatments that go with it including chemotherapy. In 2003 whilst serving in the British Army in Northern Ireland, I found a lump on my testicle and after getting an initial verdict then had to wait before getting home to have a biopsy. Unfortunately they didnt catch it in time and it spread to my lungs and stomach so chemotherapy and surgery were needed before getting myself back on my feet. In addition to this our family have lost so many loved ones to this disease as I'm sure you have known or lost someone close to you also.

The Mountain Rescue team is a self funded organisation who save countless lives every year in South Wales, they need funding to continue the great work they do, I know this as I am nearing completion of my training to become an operational team member. All members are volunteers so give so much to help others. See the teams web page here
The Challenge
The challenge I have set myself is fairly unique and includes adventure travel and also ultra running, I will be running a 100 km ultra in each of the 7 continents within 1 year. This means 39,000 miles travelled around the globe travelling to each continent and then running for 100 kilometres through the most remote yet beautiful locations on the planet.
This will be a self supported trip with all proceeds going to the two charities above.
The locations I will be running 100 km in will be:
- Africa – Kenya Great Rift Valley
- North America – Cascade Mountains
- South America – Inca Trail
- Antarctica
- Europe – UTMB
- Asia – Nepal
- Australia – Greater Blue Mountains
I hope that you can help me raise this much needed money for these two charities and support me running the globe.
A corporate sponsor would also help especially to help fund Antarctica, this would mean that an organisation for a small fee would be able to showcase their company logo and brand on every continent on the planet, not much better exposure than that!! The sponsor will also be heavily mentioned in any articles/interviews as they would be helping these two great causes.
As the challenge is based over one year then you can sponsor throughout 2018.
Thanks for taking the time to view this profile and to read my short story......

Time is ticking down to the next 100km challenge which will be in North America running round the iconic Mount Rainier in September.
Thanks for all the donations so far but please let’s reach £4000 for these great charities.
Many thanks
