This 600+ page, full-colour book will provide the reader with a comprehensive history of horror movies from the early silent horror films of 1896 to present-day, and beyond - the book also features over 150 horror movies due to be released in 2017/18 as well as upcoming horror TV shows.
What’s in the Book?
This book will be a beautifully elegant full-colour hardcover book. There are more than 5,000 horror movies included in the book. For each one, there is a description of the film, along with directors, writers, actors, languages, runtimes and more.
Then there is a director/writer section, with some information about all the directors and writers featured in the main part of the book. Then there is a selection of indexes where you can find movies by genre, directors, language and more.
From 1896 through to 2018 – that’s over 120 years of movie-making history – there is something for every horror fan.
There are also movies from 60 countries, in over 55 different languages from Japanese to Persian, Yiddish to Russian, Greek to Norwegian.
The book features movies which were banned, and those which have been deemed lost due to the originals being destroyed in fires, or being lost over time.
There is also a section on crowdfunding and independent films. And finally there is the TV section, which features well over 750 horror shows from all over the world.
Why support this project?
The Ultimate Horror Movie Encyclopedia is the most comprehensive and up to date compilation book on horror movies out there. It's also a limited edition – there will only be 1,500 hardcover copies printed of the first edition, which are available exclusively through this project (see reward levels).
This is a truly independent venture. I am researching, writing, publishing, marketing and distributing the book myself. This way I can be in complete control of the whole process, and ensure that I write the book that I want to write - the most comprehensive guide to horror movies.

Who Am I?
My name is Tess Milligan, I am an author, a mum, a vegan, music lover and a huge lover of horror movies – though not necessarily in that order!
For the last year I have suffered with auto-immune disorders that have turned my life upside down. Being unable to work has been difficult for me, and so I began to write as a way of passing the time. It soon became a passion, and I wanted to write about something I loved, and the obvious thing was horror movies!
Since I watched my first horror movie - The Evil Dead - in the 80's, through to modern day horrors, I've been a huge fan of horror movies.
When does the money need to be received?
In order to publish the book in February 2017, I need to raise the funds by mid-December this year.
Where does the money go, and what do you get in return for your donation?
As you can imagine, it costs quite a lot to publish a book this comprehensive, and so here is an overview of what the money raised here will cover:
· Professional editing of the final product
· Professional design of the cover, spine and back
· Printing/Publication
· Shipping (including international charges)
· Crowdfunding Fees
· Digital production
· Any Unexpected Costs!
Please note that every supporter will see their name published in the back of the book, on the “Supporters” pages (you can request not to be included if you wish).
What if I don't raise the target amount?
The target amount will allow me to carry out a print run of 1,500 copies. However, if I don't reach that target, I will print-on-demand to fulfill all orders, regardless of how much money is raised. Every person who donates more than £25 will receive a copy.
