Sgt. Cain diagnosed with cancer
A few days before Christmas I got a phone call from my father telling me I needed to come home because he needed to talk to me.
When I got there he told me he had a very aggressive form of cancer. He had been through many test and scans to see what could be done about it.
He has decided to go to Jacksonville's Mayo clinic to receive treatment. Medical bills will still need to be payed but here it's not as stressful.
The money will be put towards the medical bills that's are beginning to pile up. Any donation is greatly appreciated. If there is anything left over it will be put back into cancer research. Please help my family get through this rough time.
There is a closed FB group called Whipple Surgery Survivor Group. I strongly suggest you and your father join. While you CANNOT post any fundraising in this group, it is a great source of information concerning pancreatic cancer, what to expect with the surgery, and in your case, how to deal with the insurance companies and referrals. I found this group after I went through the Whipple for ampullary cancer and it has been so very, very helpful.
Shania, my heart goes out to you and your family. Please consider contacting The pancreatic cancer action network to get information on clinical trials and insurance.
