Gaude - New SF Chamber Choir
I'm Jace Wittig, a full-time Educator, conductor, performer, and clinician in San Francisco. After 8 years with Chanticleer, I'm striking out on my own and forming a new professional ensemble here in the Bay Area, comprised of 8 singers who are truly outstanding! The ensemble, called Gaude (Latin for "rejoice"... we sing a lot of sacred music!), will present two concerts here in the San Francisco area. We're putting it all together in 5 rehearsals, and it's going to be really, really wonderful. Check out our website!
The singers are first-rate and will be compensated as such. They bring a wealth of professional experience and personal artistry to the table, and they truly adore singing in a small ensemble. Our repertoire is specialized, and I want be sure that their talents and personal dedication are honored. Indeed, some of the program is designed to highlight the incredible talents of individuals, as well as to showcase what they can do together. I was hesitant to start something this involved until I met these fine singers... each of whom is intensely passionate and joyful about singing with their colleagues. Nothing I've ever experienced is as beautiful as a roomful of people who connect on such a deep level through singing together.
Starting a business is expensive, of course. Your donation will help cover the cost of the singers' musical scores, rehearsal space rental, and the various fees associated with filing numerous forms with the government. (These really add up!) Your contribution will also ensure that the enormous leap of faith these singers took by sharing their time and energy is truly worth it for them.
I'd like to reach this goal in the next two weeks. Giving season is upon us, and I can't thank you enough for your generosity. Choral music has been my life since my first days singing with the Indianapolis Children's Choir. Anyone who has given their time to a choir can tell you that musical connections are among the most powerful bonds we can create as humans. Singing together has the power to inspire us, change us, enrich our lives, even save us. Help me bring this joy and passion--this essential human connection--to audiences here in the Bay Area.
