Bryn Mawr 50's Diner Installation

Donation protected
Edgewater Artists in Motion is a group of Chicago artists commited to making Edgewater a more pleasant neighborhood to live in and visit through visual stimulation.  There are so many vacant properties in the neighborhood, and our goal is to use those spaces to promote local art and attract visitors to the businesses that are in operation in Edgewater and create a better sense of community.

To me, a 50's diner represents "the good ol' days", when the community came together to grab a milkshake with their neighbors and loved ones and dance to the top records on the juke box, quite a change from today's entertainment (you know, staring at laptops and cell phones at Starbucks).  I'd like to capture this in a window installment beneath the train tracks on Bryn Mawr. Paintings, photography, and sculptures of food, hand-made 50's decor, and anything else that is appropriate for the display will be for sale, and the artists will receive free promotion and keep 100% of their sales.  The money donated to the cause will go to employ the artists working on the installment and the cost of materials.

The goal is to have this project ready to go before Thanksgiving, by November 25th.  It will stay up through the holidays and light up Bryn Mawr Ave.  A week after Thanksgiving, the diner will be decorated for the holiday season.

There's always that one thing that you see that makes or breaks your day, and I would really love to have the funds to make this a spectacular visual experience that will bring a warm fuzzy feeling to those who walk by! Thanks!
