Udo's Oxygen

$913 of $2,500 goal

The friends of Udo Andre want him to have some of the freedom of which End Stage COPD has robbed him. He was an active outdoor man, hiking, camping, enjoying the beach as Beachmaster. He is required now to lug those long heavy tanks around everywhere, even to the mailbox.

We'd like to raise enough to buy him an Inogen portable oxygen generator. It is small, lightweight, and can be carried over the shoulder or in a backpack.

With just a little from a lot of folks, in no time at all we can raise enough to buy Udo the Inogen One G3, the Freedom Package .

Thank you!

Got some pics from Udo with his POC. He looks like he's having a great time, but we're sorry to see he must now use feminine hygiene products because he cannot control his joy.

I'm not sure everyone received this update the first time I sent it six days ago, so I'm re-sending it. We're working on getting Udo enough for an extra battery. I want to thank everyone once again for their help and support:

Good morning! I wanted to let everyone know that I found and bought a pre-owned portable oxygen concentrator for Udo.

There have been several false starts and aborted landings with a few sellers and dealers. Amy Goldfarb tried to negotiate a donation from Inogen and Carly Jolan put an ad in Craigslist. I had to deal with some flaky sellers. By searching outside Las Vegas, I found an affordable unit with accessories!

The seller kindly listed it on ebay, wording it so that it didn't appear to be a portable unit but only the accessories, and I would have some level of protection, since he is in Hemet, CA. He's a regular seller on ebay and has an excellent rating.

I negotiated a lower price since it was a little more than we had, because GFM takes their share, but there were still shipping charges. I would like to thank Don Cole for covering those.

The seller is shipping via Fedex today and it should arrive on Udo's doorstep by Monday.

He should have everything he needs:
Respironics SimplyGo portable concentrator with both pulse and continuous, 2 Batteries, Carrying Cases, Chargers, and the Cart.

Udo has promised to send pictures when he receives it and I'll post them.

Thank you again everyone for your help in accomplishing this!

Hello, everyone!

I wanted to update everyone who generously donated to Udo's Oxygen that I am actively seeking an affordable pre-owned unit for him.

I placed an ad on Craigslist and have received a couple of responses. I've talked to a man who buys and sells pre-owned units to set my mind at ease about them. His units start at $1200. If I find one available, it has to be local so that we can look at it and check it out for ourselves.

Amy Goldfarb has been making contact with manufacturers, but without a charitable designation, there hasn't been much luck.

Any suggestions are welcome and thank you again for your help!
