UCC gunshot victim Rand McGowan
I would like to see the McGowan family blessed through this and see them come out on top. This family has a special place in my heart and I want nothing less than to see them taken care of.
Go Fund Me asked for addition information about me to make sure these funds get to the McGowans and I appreciate that.
My name is Julianna,
The McGowans have been very close to my family for 9 years. I currently live in Olympia,WA.
The funds will be used for Medical Bills,Counseling and anything else this family may need through this time.
I will be delivering the funds personally to the McGowans in two weeks.
Thank you again
I just wanted to say that this gofundme user is legit. To many users during this time are claiming to be helping others but unfortunately are scamming people. It's sad really but I have taken time out of my schedule to let people know that this is a legit user. Julianna Gilstrap has been a friend of the McGowans for 9 years and has continued to show my family love while living in Olympia Washington.... During the UCC shooting I had 2 brothers that day on campus. As I was huddled and packed into the library supply closet with countless others who were all in panic all at the same time, I began to text my brothers to make sure they were okay. Ian respond immediately saying he was okay, but Rand was nowhere to be heard... I began to text anyone and everyone asking for prayers in regards to the events that happened in Synder hall. 7 minutes later I get a text from Rand saying, "Just shot in the finger" Of course millions of questions rushing in my head during this time, like where? And are you okay? And do you need help? My brother instincts came into play and I wanted nothing more then to break out of the lockdown, currently at the school, and to come get him. I'm glad that I had been yards away because if I had known he was in danger, thought and reason completely would have left my body. Rage would have consumed me and I probably would not be here today. Fortunately I don't have to wonder about the what if's. My brother made it out alive in one piece with a wound to his hand, that could of been a lot worse. My thankfulness goes out to the people that prayed during those hard 7 minutes, and to those that have given my family and I the support, prayers and love we all soo needed. Thanks you all so much! This is my story. #IAMCHRISTIAN
Many people are wishing you a speedy recovery and sending you healing thoughts as you recover from your trauma, both physically and emotionally. It sounds like you have a wonderful family who are supporting you during your difficult journey. We all hold you in our thoughts and prayers. Big Hugs from California..
Hello to all the victims (I hate that word) of the UCC shootings. We don't think about this much until it impacts on our own lives. So many of us have gone to UCC, and support it today as alumni. I graduated from UCC in 2010 and 2011. I am now a Substitute Instructional Assistant with Roseburg Public Schools, and an Ordained Christian Pastor.. I am not able to donate cash, because I am considered "Working Poor" What I can offer is support. Emotional or spiritual. I have met many people like me, just trying to wrap our heads around what happened. If you, or someone you know needs a shoulder, or just a friendly hug I am your girl! You may contact me on my cell which is 541 430 2246. I stand with others in my community to support not only Roseburg or UCC, but anywhere here in Douglas County. Please let me be a part of the healing for our little town!
If i could donate i would but im currently broke. All i can say is that ive been shot in the hand as well, actually my wrist and had an artificial joint put in. but im hoping the damage was minimal, and the emotional pain fron these kinds of events stick with you forever. If you need to talk message me, ive dealt with it for awhile now...
Please encourage family to contact Kelly at the district attorney's office. Her direct line is 541-430-4390. The Department of Justice can provide funding for expenses through the Crime Victims' Comoensation program. Kelly can furnish them with the application and assistance in filling it out.
