Support for Avery Fitzgerald

Donation protected
With the Here is Avery Fitzgerald, or Ave-Man as we like to say. The youngest of three boys and rambunctious as ever, but then I took a picture of him that changed our lives forever. Within one day of showing this picture to his Pediatrician, we were rushed to Luries Childrens Hospital in Chicago, IL, and they confirmed our biggest fear. He had cancer... Avery was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare cancer of the eye (estimate of 200-300 cases a year out of all children, you are able to recognize this in a picture by a white pupil vs red pupil when the flash is on). 75% of Avery's left eye contained multiple tumors. Avery was immediately scheduled for surgery. Three days after his second birthday, Avery had his entire eyeball and optic nerve removed due to the risk of the cancer spreading to his brain or blood.
He is now post-op and doing better than we could have ever thought. Our lives changed in an instant that day; with literally the click of a camera.
With the recent insurmountable support and overall awareness of Avery's story and Retinoblastoma; Patrick and I would like to extend our donations to retinoblastoma survivors. As always, you will be our superhero, Ave-Man's hero. Thank you so much for your genorosity, thoughts and prayers.

With Love,
Julie, Patrick, Aidan, Austen, and most importantly Avery Fitzgerald
