Help a Navy Veteran Provide Stability for His Family

On Monday, January 18, Shane Rice was taken from this Earth. He leaves behind too many friends to count and a family that is shattered to its core. There are hardly words to describe what everyone is feeling and while there is no amount of money that can replace what we have all lost, by providing a platform to bring those who love Shane together we can help to relieve the financial burden for his family as they lay him to rest.<br /><br />Please know that any amount, large or small, is greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting Shane and his family. <br /><br />For transparency to those viewing this, I am Shane’s first cousin, Chelsea Begley. My mom Kathy (Rice) McIntosh is Shane’s dad’s only sibling. I grew up here in Springfield, MO, and live here currently raising my own family. I spent a good deal of my youth in Rogersville with our grandparents there off HWY 60 and can remember visiting my aunt and uncle’s farm to spend time with my cousins, Shane and Jason. I offered to set up this GoFundMe to support my mom, dad, aunt, and uncle as they navigate the grieving process and funeral expenses.

A few days later, he received the unimaginable diagnosis of stage four pancreatic cancer. Perry is currently at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Longmont receiving aggressive treatment, with the hopes he can be admitted to home care in Pinewood Springs, CO soon. But, with this shocking news, both Perry and his partner Kelly have been forced to suddenly stop working to focus on his care.</span><span style="font-size:11pt;font-family:Arial;vertical-align:baseline;white-space:pre-wrap;"><br /><br /></span>
