<div>This was more than a house—it was a legacy. Michael has lived there for 50 years, a home passed down from his family, who made him promise never to sell it. It stood as a cornerstone of DC’s Trinidad, a historically Black neighborhood that has welcomed generations of families.

<div>Hi friends, my name is Nana A. Bonin III - QueenMother of Denyase Traditional Area in the Ashanti Region of Ghana; and founder of Denyaseman Pre-School - I also live in the UK.

<div>I have set up this fundraiser to raise funds for the pre-school I have built in my community. Denayase Village Pre-School is located between Bone and Anwia Nkwanta on the 'Mankessim - Kumasi Rd', in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

<div>My community, trustees (in Ghana and the UK), and I started this project in 2017 and since then have raised a total of around £34,000 to build the foundation and structure of the school building. Building a pre-school has been a dream of mine for as long as I have been enstooled as queen-mother, and my community and I are incredibly grateful that it came true. I wanted to start this project because I knew it would promote educational, social and economic development in my community - as I acknowledged the severity of the lack of access to education and work within Denyase.

<div>This school is important to my community because I believe that education is empowering and is the solution to many problems concerning poverty. Pre-school education provides children with a strong foundation in social and general life skills which will give them an advantage in primary school and beyond. Education can often be taken for granted, but it is a massive factor in development in many aspects, which is why Denyaseman Pre-School values education and its benefits.

<div>Thank you so much for supporting Ryan and his family. On the weekend of July 29-31 Ryan, his brother Brett, and friends went on a camping trip to Wisconsin. On Saturday evening, Ryan hit his head while swimming in a lake and immediately lost the use of his arms and legs. Although he regained consciousness fairly soon after the incident, he couldn’t move. The boys called an ambulance, which resulted in a life flight to a hospital in Madison, WI. An MRI showed a C5 burst fracture in his spine, along with some damage to the C6. He went into surgery around midnight, which went well, but changes since then have been small. Doctors will continue to look for some mobility as the pressure and compression on the nerve hopefully let up. Please pray for Ryan to gain feeling in all his extremedies. Pray for a miracle! Also, please pray for peace and patience for his family as they walk this journey with him.

On May 14, 2022, the Buffalo community suffered a devastating act of violence when a<br />gunman opened fire at the Tops Friendly Market on Jefferson Avenue, killing ten people<br />and wounding three. Many have asked how to help.<br /><br />In partnership with Tops, the National Compassion Fund has established the Buffalo<br />5/14 Survivors Fund to provide direct financial assistance to the survivors of the<br />deceased and those directly affected by this tragedy.<br /><br />One hundred percent of the contributions donated to this fund will go directly to victims<br />and survivors of this atrocity. Qualifying charitable donations to this fund are tax<br />deductible.<br /><br />The National Compassion Fund is the leading authority on financial assistance to<br />victims of mass casualty events. It is a subsidiary of the National Center for Victims of<br />Crime, the nation’s leading resource and advocacy center for victims of all types of<br />crime.

Help me fund my Unsettling Truths Book Tour 2022

Lexie is a vibrant, energetic, and compassionate 9 year old girl. We have called her Ladybug since the day she was born. On November 11th 2017 our Ladybug gave us a tremendous scare. She was rushed by ambulance to the hospital, she was almost non-responsive and had very labored breathing. She was essentially unconscious for the next 24 hours. After some initial tests it was discovered that she was a type 1 diabetic and her body was in a very critical state. <br /><br />After just about a week in the hospital Susan and I took her home and began a routine of checking her blood glucose levels every three hours around the clock. Recently her glucose readings have fluctuated wildly and it has been almost impossible to keep her within range. She is now labeled by her physicians as a Brittle Diabetic, which means that her diabetes is hard to control. <br /><br />For cases like Lexie's it is recommended that patients receive a continuous glucose monitor and insulin pump. We were all set to receive one and were denied by our insurance company. We are appealing the decision but that process can take months. There is a cheaper pump that her physician is recommending we use until the appeals process plays out. This would be a 100% out of pocket expense for us. Susie and I haven't slept through the night together since the diagnosis. One of us has been up every three hours throughout the night. Likewise Lexie has not been able to have sleep-overs or even extended playdates with friends. This has become a quality of life necessity. I many of you know, I am writing a book on the Doctrine of Discovery, and I would like to ask for your partnership.<br /><br />The proposed title of the book is "Truth be Told: The Doctrine of Discovery and the Root Cause of Racial Injustice."<br /><br /> I have a co-author; his name is Soong-chan Rah. He is a great friend, a wise theologian, and a professor at North Park Theological Seminary. He has already published several books including "The Next Evangelicalism" and "A Prophetic Lament". I am deeply grateful for his partnership and voice in this project.<br /><br />We have a publisher: InterVarsity Press. For those of you who know me, I have been connected with InterVarsity for most of my adult life. You also know that I have been given a fairly prophetic message regarding the Doctrine of Discovery. I love that on a page discussing their Publishing Philosophy, IVP states that they "Are Prophetic: The large majority of our publications will represent what most evangelicals can readily adhere to. There will be occasions, however, when Christians will need to speak a corrective biblical word to society or to the church at large. InterVarsity Press may find itself in a position to do this, as it has in the past, keeping in mind Paul's mandate to speak the truth in love..."<br /><br />I have a message with tons of material, content, historical facts, stories and examples. As you have probably seen/read/watched from my social media (FB, Twitter, YouTube, Periscope, Blog and Website) I have been traveling the country for the past 3-5 years teaching about the Doctrine of Discovery and the need for our nation to create a common memory.<br /><br />There is a definite need and a huge potential audience. The month of July 2016 has seen horrific racial violence, frustration, fear, and confusion in our country. #AltonSterling, #PhilandoCastile, #Dallas and #BatonRouge have all taken place within a 2-week stretch, and our leaders have struggled to know how to respond. During this same period my social media has been incredibly active. Less than 3 weeks into the month my blog is already at its highest number of page views ever. And my articles, posted stories, shared pictures and linked videos teaching about the Doctrine of Discovery and highlighting our need as a nation (and a church) to create a common memory are being shared widely.<br /><br />What I don't have is a stable income.  For nearly 2 decades, I worked as a computer consultant and invested in ministry part time. When my last computer contract ended over 2 years ago, my wife Rachel and I made the decision to devote ourselves full-time to initiating a broader dialogue regarding racial conciliation, diversity, contextualized worship, Native issues, and the Doctrine of Discovery. We knew our income would suffer and fluctuate greatly while we worked to establish ourselves. And that has definitely been the case. Things are beginning to show signs of stabilizing, at least during certain seasons, as my voice and platform grow. But there are still several times throughout the year when we have lulls in our income, normally around Christmas and in the summer months. And this year is no exception. I only have 2 paid speaking engagements the entire months of July and August and nothing booked yet for December. This is great in that it gives me plenty of time to write. But it also means that our income drops significantly during those periods.<br /><br />So we decided to crowdfund in order to supplement our income for the rest of the year so I can complete the writing process and get this message published.
