<div>(August 15th) - Filled with excited anticipation to meet their baby girl, Roma and her husband, Josh, headed to the hospital for a scheduled c-section. Shortly after giving birth, Roma suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest. She was revived after 55 minutes of chest compressions. Roma remained unconscious and unresponsive. Meanwhile her family gathered in strength to care for their newborn baby (Kira) and toddler (Kaius) at home. <strong>Roma suffered permanent brain damage, including irreversible damage to her optic nerve. </strong>Roma is now legally blind and her motor function is severely impacted.

<div>If you know Roma, you know she is a fighter. Roma and her family are so thankful for the ongoing prayers throughout her recovery. While her diagnosis is life-shattering, it is truly a miracle that Roma is here with us today. God gave Roma the strength to continue, and she is working every day to fight for her family.

<div>While Roma is here with us, their family still has a long road head. Roma is currently at a rehab facility where she has round-the-clock therapy and care. She will likely need living assistance for the indefinite future. <strong>Your gracious donation will go directly towards Roma's medical care and provide great relief for the Bhatt Coleman family.</strong>

<div>If you didn't know Roma... to know her is to love her. A role model in all aspects of life - motherhood, marriage, friendship, faith, community, the list goes on. Roma is a servant at heart and dedicated her career to helping others through behavioral health. She has testified twice at the state legislature as a champion for school-based health care and is an advocate for vulnerable populations. A beautiful human inside and out, filled with empathy and compassion for all. The world is a better place with Roma in it, and we are overjoyed to see glimpses of her come back throughout her recovery.
