<div><strong>Please be advised, that this is NO LONGER a surprise for Bex. We presented him with what we had raised so far on his birthday, but we are a little less than halfway to our ultimate goal, so please share the link, thank you.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello all, Schari has a special request this year for Bex's Birthday. Anyone who has been to our home, our munch, or seen us at various conventions and events knows that I would never get anywhere without Bex assisting me at every angle. He's not only my devoted assistant and sounding board, but also my roadie and chauffeur on many occasions.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Well Bex is turning 40</strong>, and sure, he has made an Amazon list of all the little knickknacks he would like, but the truth is, what he needs is a <strong>new car</strong>. I don't know if you've recently heard his current ride, but it does not sound good, and fixing it will just delay the inevitable. It's not that Bex can't afford a monthly payment on a car; he can, it's the deposit to get it in the first place. Of course, the more he puts down, the lower the monthly payment, which is very useful when you have to drive to a day job two counties away, attend a master's program in person at Montclair State University, not to mention all the stuff he helps me out with, and let's not forget that he drives all over NJ to play softball, one of his true passions.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Along with everything he does for me and our social community all year long, he also plans a surprise theme for my birthday EVERY year. Now it is my turn to do an amazing surprise for him. <strong>Update:</strong> He was extremely surprised and humbled when he found out that he would be the recipient of all your generous donations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So, instead of a big party or a weekend getaway or a collection of more stuff he doesn't need; I felt it would be more meaningful to all pitch in and contribute to a deposit on a <strong>new car</strong>. Something he desperately needs, would be very grateful for, and will always remember as his 40th Birthday Surprise.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For the record his birthday was October 15, but we decided to keep the fundraiser open until October 31, so that anyone who still wished to contribute, could. Thank you very much to all who have contributed so far and to those of you who still might.

Help Bex Get a New Car for His 40th Birthday

<div>"I just want to help connect people." If you know Nick, you know that's what he's all about.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What you may not know, is that a few months ago, he was laid off from his job (no fault of his own). Ever diligent and determined, he has been looking hard for a new job. But then, he was hospitalized in NJ for two weeks for gastrointestinal issues. It turned out that his appendix was the cause of all the gastro issues.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You probably also know he survived a liver transplant two years ago. As you might guess, everything medical is riskier when you're a transplant recipient.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So, after three weeks, and two different hospital stays, days and days of numerous medical teams weighing the risks and deliberating, he had a successful appendectomy today, thanks to UPenn Medicine in Philadelphia, PA!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, recovery will be tougher than the average person, as everything is more complicated when you are a transplant recipient. Along with his recovery, the holidays are upon us, which means the job search will be slow.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As Nick's partner, I am asking you to show your love for him by helping him any way you can. Your contributions will go toward Nick's:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Medical bills
</div>
<div>Health insurance (COBRA is very expensive)
</div>
<div>Car payment
</div>
<div>Living expenses
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for anything you can contribute to make life a little easier for the love of my life.

<p>Hi everyone. My name is Sydney Quinn. My mom, Kathy Quinn, has been losing her battle against Early Onset Alzheimers rapidly over the past year. She is no longer able to care for herself in any way. When she was diagnosed in 2017 with this illness and left unable to work, this put a great financial strain on our family. Over the past four years, we have seen her condition become worse and worse. This past summer, my mom was moved to a permanent long-term care facility. While my dad, Lloyd, and I are relieved that she is receiving the care she needs, her medical expenses have increased over the past few months and we are struggling to pay these bills due to the financial instability COVID-19 has placed on us.
</p>
<p><br />
</p>
<p>Anyone who knew my mother prior to her illness knows how much she loved her family. She was always hosting her friends over for tea (and Diet Coke), running errands for her neighbors, or helping out those in need. She was the life of every party, always so bright and lively. Even as she became ill, she always had so much love in her heart for her friends and family. We feel it is our right to provide the best care possible for her at this time.
</p>
<p>We appreciate any amount of donation that you can contribute. Please know that the money raised here will go towards the cost of the medical expenses and bills from her care facility,
