Memory of Robert Byrd

<div>Ayden Williams was an amazing and vibrant 11-year old boy who was in the 6th grade and loved attending school. He was diagnosed with autism, however, this diagnoses never slowed him down! He was always so full of life making everyone around him smile with his great sense of humor and amazing dance moves. Ayden was an inquisitive and helpful student who genuinely cared about the children and adults who surrounded him. Sadly, on August 17, 2023, Ayden unexpectedly passed away after suffering a brief and sudden illness. His family and friends are completely devastated. Ayden is beloved by all who have worked with him and an absolute joy to have known. We are asking for donations to assist his family during this difficult time.

<div>The individuals who started this page are teachers and related service providers for Ayden at his school. We chose to start a campaign because we wanted to be able to help Ayden's family with any financial costs that were incurred during this time. We also hope that the family might be able to use the money for a memorial service where the remaining members of Ayden's family could gather to celebrate his life. Ayden touched so many lives at our school and many members of our organization were looking for a way to assist the family. Our school is housed in 8 separate locations around NYC, 4 of which he attended throughout his educational journey,  and individuals from each site inquired how to donate. The money will go directly to Ayden's mother, Genesis Aquino.

<div>On Sunday, January 9 our community witnessed a tragedy in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx. A 5-alarm fire destroyed the homes of many of our the Gambian Youth Organization (GYO) community members at 333 East 183rd Street. At the moment, at least 19 people have been pronounced dead, including young children, and dozens others have sustained life-threatening injuries.

<strong>Help me to complete my miracle!</strong><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/55485620_1616461645929213_r.jpeg" alt="55485620_1616461645929213_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1672744499449001" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Andy Herrera Reyes Story</a> <br /><br /><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfxD5xXa6Io" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">UF Health Florida University</a> <br /><br /><a href="https://www.facebook.com/helpandy101" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Facebook Help Andy</a> <br /><br /><a href="https://www.instagram.com/helpandy101/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Instagram Help Andy</a> <br /><br />This letter serves to clarify that Andy Herrera Reyes, born October 27, 2004, received four open heart surgeries in different hospitals and the last procedure he underwent was at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville FL, there he underwent a heart transplant.<br />His heart is stable, Andy's story has been a true miracle, he has been connected to the ECMO machine for a period of almost 393 days, Andy is considered the greatest survivor in the world on the ECMO machine.<br /><br />There are two medical documentaries and his story has touched more than 33 countries, many channels and newspapers.<br /><br />He was in intensive care for two years, but survived, and was discharged from the hospital, because he was connected to the ECMO machine for 393 days his kidneys were affected, at this time Andy requires a kidney transplant, that it is the last step to his final recovery.<br /><br />He urgently needs a kidney transplant and it should be done as soon as possible so that he can lead a normal life. The University of Florida Gainesville Hospital (UF Gainesville) has accepted Andy for a kidney transplant with a quote of $ 67,800.00 to cover medical expenses.<br /><br />Please notice, the beneficiary of this fundraiser is Cristian Rodriguez, Andy's uncle. He's helping us using his financial information for the withdrawal.
