<div>Recently, I’ve been sharing more about my journey as a Trans person in this constantly changing world. As we’ve seen, the weight is heavier than ever before.

<div>My story goes back a while. I’ve been transitioning for the past 11+ years, and throughout that journey, working in coffee hasn't supported me financially or provided the options of Health insurance that is needed for gender affirming surgery. For much of my journey, it's felt unreachable... But

<div>After such a long wait and tons of hoops having been jumped, <strong>I FINALLY HAVE THE SURGERY DATES. (UPDATE THEY ARE BOOKED AND CONFIRMED FOR ME JAN 2026- we just need the remaining funds by that winter) </strong>

<div><strong>WITH THAT it means a lot is up in the air as I need to acquire as much of the cost before the end of the year.</strong> These goals are still in the clouds for me financially, though I am already using as much as I can to cover it, and that still won't be enough, so I’m asking for assistance from you, even if it’s a small amount.

I want to walk through the world without that weight of pretending. This isn’t about changing into someone new — it’s about becoming who I’ve always been.

<div>But getting there hasn’t been easy. Especially not under the Trump administration — where it’s felt like everything about people like me has been up for debate. Like my existence is something to vote on, legislate, erase. Every time I watch the news or read a headline, it reminds me: the system doesn’t care about me. It never has. And the people in charge? They don't even want me to exist.

<div>I’ve also been living with a conservative family my whole life. They’ve never really seen me — not the real me. I hear their words at dinner, the way they talk about “people like that,” and I know they’re talking about me, even if they don’t realize it. I’ve tried to explain. I’ve tried to be patient. But they don’t understand what it’s like to feel wrong in your own body. To feel like you’re just playing a part, day after day.
