<div>On Monday, October 28th 2024, our beloved Lahaina raised Pita Latu passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind his wife, Sofia Latu, and their new 8-month-old baby girl Malia Laukau Latu. We were shocked by the sudden loss of Pita and want to give him the funeral he deserves. We also want to allow his families and friends to grieve their loss without worrying about everyday expenses.

<div>Pita Latu was a great man of love, service, and hard work. A very humble, optimistic, &amp; gracious man, who enjoyed making us all smile &amp; laugh. Pita was the kind of person to move get things done first and talk later. His love and affection for others spoke loudly in the way he would serve with a happy heart. Pita was a very hardworking and kind man who would always go above and beyond for everyone. Pita Latu, you are deeply missed &amp; loved by so many families &amp; friends from all over the world. <div>But, as you know we’re moving to Phoenix, AZ and leaving Oregon on Friday the 15th - to make our way down to start our next chapter of life. This move has been fraught with challenges left and right - between Allison’s health care and our ever growing challenges with her insurance and ongoing battle with getting her medication/treatments on time; and our mess with our first property management company having us sign all of our paperwork to then tell us that they can no longer manage our property due to it’s location being outside of their range…with that means that we’ve missed out on income from our home we’re renting out.

<div>In addition this move also comes with Allison having to leave her job at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, as she wasn’t able to work remotely, nor was she able to start anew with the Phoenix chapter. So that means she’s on the hunt for a new professional adventure…with that comes the possibility of a loss of income for a short while.

<div>Although we got married in September of 2021 - we never had a large wedding, we never registered for wedding gifts, or a “honeyfund” to support our new life, and or honeymoon - we are now asking for a little bit of help financially as we try to get our feet planted back on the ground.

<div>It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have to share the unexpected passing of Mark "Rico" Recopuerto on Friday, March 17th, 2023. He was a husband, father, grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend to many. Mark was full of aloha and radiated contagious energy. If you knew Mark, you could find him at the beach jamming his guitar, cooking for his food truck, Ma’ana Wagon by Maui Kine Kaukau, talking stories with anyone/everyone while out and about or spending time with his ‘ohana. In his early years, he played football. He was a very special person to us all. He leaves behind 6 keiki (ages 5-41 years old) and 13 mo'opuna.  This is especially hard for his son Nainoa, his youngest son, who is on the autism spectrum. The absence of his father can never be replaced, a void that can't be filled.

<div>His last days were spent with his wife, Silvia, and his baby boy, Nainoa. She's expressed that the 10 years they had together were beautiful and happy.  He was a hard-working husband and a loving father. Mark was doing his best to provide the best future possible for his family.

<div>With all of the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it also brings financial burdens. With that being said, we're trying to raise money to help his 'ohana cover any expenses associated with his passing. <div>Cisco Malubay was born in Moloka’i on 3/22/60 and raised in Maui. He was part of Baldwin High School class of 1978. Cisco is married to his High School sweetheart Yolanda and they have lived on Moloka’i for the past 14 years.

<div>In 2009 Cisco had an angiogram test done due to two arteries being replaced with stents. The test did not go well and midway through the testing they lost him for 3 minutes. When results came back the family was told by PCP doctors that a half of his heart on the left side was damaged/enlarged and he could no longer do labor work or put his heart under any type of stress.
</div>
<div>As a result from everything he’s been through he battles many serious medical conditions.
</div>

<div>On February 2023 he was Medevac from Molokai‘s ER facility to Queens Medical Center. The physicians and medical team found that four of Cisco‘s organs were in danger of failing. They informed the family at the time that he had 3 to 6 months to live. We are asking for all your prayers that a miracle will happen and that Cisco will be with us longer. Whether through monetary help or prayer we would truly appreciate your help and support.

Maui, Hawaii Boy Cisco Malubay

Aloha mai kākou. My name is Pukanalā Llanes, and I am Kalā Baybayan Tanaka's younger sister and Daniel Tanaka's sister in law. My father and I, Kālepa Baybayan, have started this gofundme account on behalf of my 5-year old nephew Tekaurinuiotekaupapawaka Tanaka.<br /><br />On Thursday, January 29th, Tekauri, son of Kalā and Daniel, was diagnosed with a fast growing tumor on the base of his brain. Kalā and Tekauri were both medevaced to Kapiolani Hospital and this weekend Tekauri underwent an 8-hour surgical procedure to remove the tumor. He has since undergone a full body MRI to detect if the tumor has spread to other parts of his body and is awaiting a pathology report. They are beginning speech and motor skills therapy and he will undergo another MRI and CT exam towards the end of the week.<br /><br />Daniel is a Resource Manager Technician with Mauna Kahalawai Watershed Partnership  and Kalā is working on her Master in Education degree and is a Hōkūle’a navigator. She will resume her studies once Tekauri has recovered. 5-year old Tekauri is in kindergarten at Waihe’e Elementary School. They reside in Wailuku, Maui, along with their 9-year old son Kalae’ula and their 2-year old daughter, Kamani.<br /><br />All donations will be used to assist with Tekauri’s medical expenses and other costs associated with his treatment. Tekauri Tanaka's Road to Recovery

Aloha,<br /><br />We have just won the State Baseball Tournament on Maui for the 50/70 Intermediate Division. We are moving forward to the West Regional Tournament in Nogales, AZ and need your help. If we advance the West Regional Tournament, we will be heading to Livermore, CA for the World Series. Your donations will help us with our travel, lodging, food, and other expenses that will come up on this trip.<br /><br />Our team consist of 14 players and 3 coaches that will be traveling. We have on our team Ziah Chang, Trey Shimabukuro, Nari Dumlao, Jevon Raboy, Tyrus Lopez, Russell Villanueva, Drechen Perreria, Dawson Nuese, Dakota Soares, Sire Corpuz, Brysen Molina, Makoa Tom, Royce Baqui, and Alex Zaragoza. The coaches are Steve Zaragoza, Ryan Cabral, and Brysen Fukutomi. <br /><br />Our trip to Nogales, AZ starts on July 15th and the West Regional Tournament is from July 17th to July 25th. 50/70 Intermediate Maui All Stars

On March 17, 2016 tragedy struck the Hashimoto family when then 7 year old Tavin Hashimoto was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). His parents Davin &amp; Tammi-Lyn Hashimoto of Kula, Maui were devastated.  Their energetic, fun-loving, amazing child was about to face a battle where by all statistics provided very little hope.  Davin &amp; Tammi-Lyn, little brother Taylor, little sister Taylyn, and all of Tavin's family and friends rallied around them with love, prayers, and support.  As Tavin began his chemotherapy treatments it was quite evident that this little miracle was not going out without a fight. After just one round of treatment Tavin's scan came back to show there were no cancer cells found in his body.  Tavin kicked cancers butt!!! Knowing that Tavin's healing came from God alone we rejoiced in HIS victory.  However, we knew that this battle was not yet over.  Tavin had to endure another six months of chemotherapy treatments to ensure the cancer was completely gone. Davin &amp; Tammi-Lyn stayed with Tavin at Kapiolani Hospital on Oahu during this time and were only able to see their other two children when they flew over on the weekends.  They communicated with their family and friends over facetime and missed out on so many precious moments. After a long six month stay Tavin came home!!!  He was happy, healthy, and able to enjoy being a kid again.  Tavin still had to take some medication and had to go back to Oahu once a month for a check up but month after month each report came back better than the next.  <br /><br />Now here we are one year later.  In early March 2018 Tavin went back for his routine monthly check up.  This one was different.  This one brought news that everyone who loves Tavin never wanted to hear.  The Leukemia has come back. We were once again devastated and heartbroken. This news came 1 day shy of the terrible news we received a year ago.  Tavin's dad Davin described it as "a punch to my stomach".  A battle that we thought was over has come back for round two. <br /><br />But the battle is not ours..........OUR GOD is Tavin's GREAT PHYSICIAN, HEALER, PROVIDER, and STRONG TOWER. So again, we stand in faith, we stand together, and we BELIEVE that Tavin WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!!!  Tavin WILL BE HEALED!!!!  Tavin WILL BEAT CANCER AGAIN!!!! <br /><br />Tavin and his family will be packing up their lives once again to head to Kapiolani Medical Center to begin treatment and a bone marrow transplant for Tavin.    Please fight with us as we gather together to support the Hashimoto family.  We humbly ask for your support financially to help with the day to day living expenses such as food, and supplies, as well as travel cost to and from Oahu. Stand & Fight with Tavin Hashimoto
