<div>In Borneo (Malaysia), one of the last remaining pristine rainforests on our planet is currently being illegally destroyed. In an extremely remote area, logging began during the holidays — deliberately timed when inspections and enforcement are unlikely.

<div>The logging targets the Meranti tree, a highly valuable tropical hardwood. These activities violate local laws and are destroying a rainforest that is among the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, home to the tallest tropical trees and an extraordinary variety of plant and animal life.

<div>The indigenous Penan people, who have lived in and depended on this forest for generations, are losing their livelihoods. The rainforest provides them with food, clean water, medicine, and cultural identity. As the forest is cleared, rivers become polluted, habitats are destroyed, and entire communities face an existential threat.
