<div>Before he was born, Gabriel was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. After much deliberation, his mom decided the best plan for him to have a healthy life was to get a heart transplant when he was born.

<div>At just 13 days of life, Gabe was blessed with the gift of a heart. His new heart has provided his family immense love and joy in watching him grow. In his 15 years, he’s shown an enduring love for sharks, his sister, his pets and his family. If you have had the chance to meet him, you will know the love and spark he brings to the world.

<div>Unfortunately,  Gabe is now in transplant-related heart failure. This is not uncommon for heart transplant recipients, but even though they always knew it was a possibility, it’s never something one can prepare for. Since he was diagnosed in August, Gabe and his family have spent over 25 days in the hospital or doctor appointments to get him prepared to be listed for a new heart.

<div>Because our systems are flawed, at best, Gabe’s mom, Lisa, is in the regrettable position of needing to maintain a full-time job to provide for her family. As a single parent, Lisa is tasked with working and caring for both her children and everything that comes with being a parent of a sick kiddo.

<div>Lisa is a fierce advocate for Gabe and ensures he is involved with each step of the process. This has necessitated some challenging discussions as she ensures he understands and provides direction on his healthcare.

<div>And…they can’t do this alone.

<div>In the time before Gabe gets a new heart and his recovery time after, they will need help. FMLA only offers 12 weeks of unpaid leave which means that unless they can get some help, Lisa will have to work when her son is in ICU and recovering.

You have found your way to the most amazing cancer fighting story out there... (okay the story has just started but you have the chance to be part of it) Welcome!!!!! This is Dakota Brower just your average 26 year old father, husband, brother, son and friend but with a heart of gold and a warrior sprit.  He was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to the liver and lung it has been the type of news no one ever wants to hear.  So when you do hear that diagnosis what do you do?  YOU FIGHT....You fight to win, fight to watch your one year old son grow up blissfully unaware that his daddy is a true hero, fight to grow old with your beautiful wife and fight for another day and the hope for recovery.  Here is where you come in, we are setting up this fund to help Dakota and his wife with some of the expenses that we all know get to be overwhelming with a situation like this.  For a young couple the loss of income that comes with extended time off for treatment and huge copays for chemotherapy and other life saving medications as well as hospital bills can add a huge amount of stress to an already trying time so we are reaching out to people like you to help us keep his fight strong by helping them worry less about the costs and more about beating the cancer.  If you aren't in a position to help with funds you can still help by sharing his story and this page so we can build a community of wonderful people sending healing energy and hope their way.<br /><br />Thank You for taking the time to send this on<br /><br />Dakotas Mama

Rob passed away unexpectedly Wednesday the 13th.  Unfortunately funerals cost money and Robs children are left to bear the burden.
