We are facing one of the hardest moments we have ever experienced. The land where our rescue shelter is located is being sold. For a long time, the municipality has been pressuring us to leave because the dogs are “too loud” and houses are too close. Now, the situation has become even more serious (some neighbors have started threatening to poison our dogs.) We are currently caring for almost 100 rescued dogs. Dogs that were starving, injured and completely alone. Dogs that had no one...until we took them in. We gave them safety, food, medical care, and a second chance at life. And now we are at risk of losing everything. We cannot move 100 dogs overnight. We cannot rebuild a shelter without land. And we cannot pretend everything is okay while the situation is falling apart behind the scenes. We are now forced to reduce the number of dogs to around 20–30 in order to relocate to a place far away from houses. This means we urgently need adoptions and foster homes..but also the financial support to build a new safe place. Without this, lives are at risk.
