<div>Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time as our father, <strong>Elwyn Peterson (“Pawpaw”), </strong>is currently on hospice and nearing the end of his 13-year battle with cancer. During these final days, our focus is on surrounding him with <strong>love, comfort, and dignity.</strong>
</div>

<div>Elwyn is deeply loved by his wife of 33 years, Cara; his children, Joni (and spouse Rusty) and Justin (and spouse Jennifer); and his 13+ grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is also cherished by many extended family members, his siblings, and friends who have become like family to him.
</div>

<div>As we walk through this season, we are leaning on one another while facing the emotional and practical challenges that come with it. We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden of ongoing care, hospice needs, and the unexpected expenses that arise during this time.

Helping Our Family Navigate This Time Together

<div>Over the past eight months, my mom, Diana Doyal has been fighting for her health.

</div>

<div>She started experiencing ongoing symptoms that led to repeated doctor visits, testing, and treatments, month after month without answers. During this time, she did not have health insurance, but she kept going to appointments anyway because she knew something wasn’t right. Like so many people, she chose her health over the fear of medical bills.

<div>Eventually, she received a diagnosis of endometrial cancer.

<div>While we are grateful to finally have clarity and a treatment plan, the emotional and financial weight of this diagnosis has been heavy. The medical bills she accumulated before her diagnosis are already significant, and she now needs continued care, upcoming treatments, and a total hysterectomy as part of her cancer treatment.

<div>My mom is 64 years old and lives on a fixed income from Social Security. She will qualify for Medicare when she turns 65 this June, but until then, we are navigating a difficult coverage gap. Despite applying for assistance programs and doing everything we can, many of the costs remain out of pocket.

Support Diana through Cancer Care, Surgery, and Recovery

<div>Our son, Clevon, was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in which his immune system is attacking the insulin-producing cells in his pancreas. Clevon is the kind of kid who always wants to do the right thing, make others happy, and give his best — on and off the field.

<div>Because we caught this early, he qualifies for Tzield, a groundbreaking FDA-approved treatment available only during a small window for children identified early enough.

<div>It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved dad, Victor Echavarria. He was a loving father, a devoted grandparent, and a stranger to no one. His kindness, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Many people may know, he had been battling health issues since 2020. Despite underlying conditions, he had been relatively healthy, but suddenly got sick in late May/early June of 2020, which resulted in him being hospitalized at UMC in Lubbock, TX. During his first few days there, doctors decided they needed to do a biopsy on his kidneys. After the biopsy was performed, he complained about pain for 2 to 3 days, before doctors finally discovered that they had accidentally nicked an artery during the biopsy, resulting in internal bleeding. This led him into a medically induced coma, being hospitalized for months, and ultimately drastically debilitating his quality of life.

<div>Despite the extreme trauma his body had endured, he continued to fight for the next few years. His life became being in and out of doctors offices, brief to longer hospital stays from time to time, using a walker to get around, constant abdomen pain, eventually bringing us to 2024 where his conditions worsened and he was forced to have dialysis three times per week. He spent the latter part of the year in Lubbock, eventually being sent home on hospice, where we were fortunate he was able to pass away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on January 11, 2025. To say he was a fighter was an understatement, and we can only be at peace because he is no longer suffering.

<div>Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our dad's life insurance policy was not in effect long enough to assist with the costs of his funeral and burial. As a family, we are doing everything we can to honor him in a way that reflects the love and respect he gave to all of us, but the financial burden is more than we can manage alone.

</div>

<div>Our dad was a special man, loved by anyone who he encountered and we know despite his financial circumstances he was counting on this insurance policy so that we wouldn't find ourselves in this situation. We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support during this challenging time. The funds raised will go directly toward covering funeral expenses, including the service, burial, and other related costs. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and help us honor our dad's memory with dignity.

Help Honor Victor Echavarria's Memory

<div>Ryleigh was airlifted to Lubbock, TX, after going into status epilepticus on Tuesday, December 3rd. She spent four days in the ICU being treated with Propofol. After those four days, they tried to wean her off sedation, but she wouldn’t wake up. She was then airlifted to Denver on Saturday, but it was too late. The damage had been done. Upon arrival in Denver, her stats were not good. Blood work showed high acid, kidney, and liver levels. The doctors told Jenni that Ryleigh had developed PRIS due to being on this medication at a high dose for too long.

<div>Saturday night, Ryleigh went into tachycardia multiple times throughout the night. After seeing her EKG, the doctors informed Jenni that if Ryleigh coded again, they would more than likely not be able to get her back. They told Jenni she would have to consider putting Ryleigh on ECMO if she wanted a chance at recovery. Sunday morning, Ryleigh coded again. After watching hospital staff perform unsuccessful CPR, Jenni had to make the split-second decision to put Ryleigh on ECMO. After ECMO, her kidneys continued to shut down, so they started her on dialysis. Not long after that, they discovered she had internal bleeding in the GI tract and a necrotic bowel. At this point, Jenni had to make a very difficult decision, one no parent should have to make. Sunday night, Jenni withdrew care and held Ryleigh in her arms as she went to be with Jesus.

<div>Ryleigh  was a beautiful soul with a big personality, full of life, and strong in spirit. Her loss has left an unimaginable void in our hearts.

<div>Ryleigh's mother, Jenni, is a single mom who has always been a pillar of strength, especially in facing the challenges and joys of raising a special needs child. As she navigates this profound loss, she is also facing funeral cost, significant medical bills and the added stress of the holiday season.

Life on earth is uncertain all the time, as is our time allowed here. October 26, 2019 was a normal day for the Dean family, until a tragic accident happened that night. Jacob Dean was called out for work, and after unpredicted time had passed, Natalee Dean decided to check on her husband. Natalee loaded their two children into the car and headed to his job site. When she arrived and exited the car, she was exposed to H2S(Hydrogen Sulfide). Natalee and Jacob both passed away. Thankfully their children were saved by remaining inside the vehicle. Emma and Caleb are currently with their grandparents. <br />Natalee and Jacob left three wonderful children behind. Jordan (18), Emma (9) and Caleb (6). Jacob and Natalee were devoted loving parents and their children were their world. They both loved the Lord and led many people to believe in him also. They have touched so many lives in so many ways. Please pray for their children who are young and will need special help, understanding, love, and guidance both now and in the times to come. Our love and prayers to them. We know that God is still, that He is with us through and in all things. He is our strength during the hard times as well as the good. Always and forever.
