<div>On 16th November 2025, just a few weeks before his 30th birthday, my son, Dylan, suffered a broken neck as the result of a freak accident in the surf on the Big Island of Hawaii.

<div>Within 4 days, he underwent two emergency surgeries at Queen's Medical Center, Honolulu, first to remove his C7 vertebrae through the front of his neck, and then to fuse his C6 to T1 through the back. While both surgeries were successful and Dylan has regained feeling in his upper body, he is unable to move his legs or wiggle his toes. As we are writing this together, doctors are still unsure what level of recovery we can expect.

<div>So now he has a long and challenging journey ahead of him. He faces significant medical and recovery costs. In the following months, rehab, therapy, medical bills, and ADA adjustments to Dylan's home will be just the beginning of this journey.

<div><strong>Your support — in any amount — will make a real difference in his healing.</strong> Our first cost will be flying Dylan home to Seattle so he can receive the best care possible, surrounded by his support system of friends and family. Insurance does not cover medical transport, so our first and immediate cost to get him home is $16,000.

<div>Dylan is a smart, wonderful, sociable, kind, and entertaining young man. He is extremely well-loved by his many friends and family who adore him for his infectious attitude, charm, charisma, and warm hugs.

<div>Dylan was born in San Francisco in 1995 to English parents but grew up in Seattle from the age of 4 years old. He has a younger brother, Henry, and a younger sister, Lily. He is bright and active. At Stevens Elementary School, he received the Seymour Kaplan Award on graduation, and at both Garfield High School and Western Washington University, he was Captain of the cross-country teams. As well as cross-country, Dylan was a keen and accomplished youth soccer player.

<div>He graduated from university in 2019 and immediately joined his dad working in sales for a data analysis company in Seattle. He remained there working until May 2025, when, having worked hard at saving enough money, he had the courage to make a big life change and dedicate himself to learning to fly to become a commercial pilot.

<div>Dylan loves the Pacific Northwest for its camping and hiking, and Lake Washington, where he takes his friends out on his small ski boat. He is a fabulous host and plans many parties and events. He had planned a big event for all his friends this year to help him celebrate his 30th birthday on Dec 19th with a Viking-influenced party to honor his Danish roots.

<div>It will be that indomitable Viking strength that will accompany Dylan through this challenge.

<div>Dylan's making it his goal to fly again, with the intention to switch from commercial flying to being a pilot for Life Flights, the non-profit outfit that flew Dylan from the Big Island to O'ahu following his accident.

In the past nine days since the accident, Dylan has received excellent care from Queen's MC with physical and occupational therapy that has already gotten him from not being able to move to transitioning from bed to wheelchair and being able to sit upright for 45-minute stints. <font color="#333333">Welcome to the Fusion fundraising page! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit. <br /><br />While we were fortunate enough to make it through 2020, with very generous support from friends, family and extended community, 2021 has posed its own challenges.<br /><br />We negotiated a very favorable lease until January 2024, and one of the conditions that swayed the landlord was a significant rent increase starting January 1, 2022. Fusion was set to weather the COVID storm and come out stronger for it, but no one knew the Delta Variant was lurking. We had a lot of inquiries and new students in 2021, but as it became apparent it was not safe to return to normal life, people once again backed off of group activities. <br /><br />We are hanging on with our core group of diehard students (and a few new ones!) but the rent increase in January will set us clearly in the negative and we will be in danger of defaulting on our lease. <br /><br />Will you help us get through 2022? Any amount is greatly appreciated and will go directly into operating expenses, insurance and utilities. <p>Urgent Message from the Queens of Julia’s to the performance community and it’s patrons.

<p>We would like to bring to your attention the following information which is being presented by the current primary cast of Le Faux and is in relation to ownership of Julia’s.
</p>

<p>Upon being asked how we would like to handle tips moving forward, as restrictions on cash-tips have been removed, we requested to return to our format prior to the pandemic. Upon further discussion, it was brought to light that our tips were being divided amongst performers as well as support staff, including lighting/sound tech, dressers &amp; stage managers. While not a problem at face value, this was never agreed upon by the cast, which caused concern.

<p>Our questions about this were then met with divisive &amp; hostile responses. We were made to feel selfish for even inquiring about the tip-out situation. Unfortunately, this type of incident has been a pattern within the culture of Julia’s for years, and the cast has finally had enough.

<p>As Drag Entertainers, with experience ranging from 3 months-10 years at Julia’s on Broadway, we have been consistently under appreciated, under promoted, overly controlled and under paid.
</p>

<p>United, we decided to take action and construct a formal list of requests, which we have shared on our social platforms.
</p>

<p>Our intentions were to create an atmosphere of appreciation, respect &amp; professional integrity. We work extremely hard, love what we do and it shows with how great our productions are.

<p>Our requests were immediately denied. Upon asking to negotiate different terms, and in a timely manner due to unwillingness to even discuss our letter of requests, we were then fired on the spot.
</p>

<p>We ask that our fellow performers, including kings, queens, burlesque, dancers &amp; live singers, join us in solidarity and not accept bookings at Julia’s on Broadway or Le Faux Productions. We deserve to be well compensated and can no longer accept that establishments “do not make enough money” to pay their performers.

<p>It is with a heavy heart that we, as a cast together, announce our involuntary departure from Julia’s on Broadway and Le Faux Productions.

<p>**The money being raised raised will go directly towards the queens who were terminated, and will be divided evenly. Half of the cast were either full-time queens (all 4-shows per weekend), or obtained a residency with the intention for full-time. We thank each and every one of you for your support and love. <p>Yesterday on June 3rd, 2021, we tragically lost Martín Buenrostro López who was shot and killed at such a young age of 19. This tragic incident has brought on so much pain to the family of our loved one. He was a beloved son being the oldest of 3, a nephew, brother, grandson, and friend. Martin had just recently graduated last year, was a very hard worker and such a great young soul that was there for his family. We are please asking for any help that you can contribute to the family in such a time of need in the wake of this tragedy. Any donation is absolutely appreciated. Funeral Expenses for Martín Buenrostro López

Mike Abebe died unexpectedly on February 27, 2021. Mike Abebe was 19 years of age at the time of his death. Mike graduated from high school last year and had decided to take a year break from school to save up some money. Mike was working full time at a warehouse. <br /><br />Mike was a kindhearted and polite young man. Mike came to the United States at the age of 8. Mike was a loving brother to his 14-year-old sister who adored him and loved him dearly. This is a terrible and unexpected loss for Mike’s family.<br /><br />Our hope is to help with some of the funeral expenses and costs as this family grieves this tragic loss.
