Tobi’s Miracle

Hello everyone,

My name is Dawn. Many of you know me from the dog rescue community. 5 years ago I rescued a 2 year old Pitbull named Harley from NYCAAC death row. I never thought that I would be writing what I am about to tell all of you. 

Please read his Harleys story, 

 

One night I was on FB , I kept seeing this Pitbull pop up on my news feed over and over. 

He was absolutely stunning and I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I made the decision to reserve him … unfortunately he got reserved by another person, however they backed out, he was back on the kill list … immediately he reserved by another person but they backed out as well. Harley then became “rescue only” in order to be pulled. That’s when I knew the universe was telling me he was meant to be my dog. 

 

Then it happened and everything fell into place. I reached out to a friend who is able to pull “ rescue only “ dogs from high kill shelters. Thankfully she did it for me and Harley was now mine. 

 

Harley has taught me patience, to be more giving and more understanding, that’s when I knew it was my calling to help other rescue dogs .. but most of all to never give up on anything, that’s why I am not giving up on Him. 

 

Previously Harley was hospitalized due to severe vomiting and diarrhea. He wasn’t eating and that’s when I knew he had to be hospitalized. He pulled through after being at the hospital for 4 days and was able to come back home. Unfortunately the next days Harley had to be rushed back into the hospital due to complications with his breathing. I got news I surely didn’t want to hear, Harley took a turn for the worse. He’s been diagnosed with an pneumonia as well as acute necrotizing pancreatitis which can be life threatening. 

 

I don’t know when he will be able fo come home. Harley has to be fully monitored 24 hours round the clock. They are doing every possible treatment to keep him alive. Needless to the say the vet bills are escalating beyond belief and I am not able to catch up with them. 

 

If you could please donate any amount possible to Harleys go fund me I would appreciate it so much. If you’re not able to donate please share his story. 

I love all you … but most of all I would love for my Harley to be back home with his family. He is extremely missed.

Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my grandmother that was racially attacked today on 3-17-21 market street. I am amazed by her bravery. She was the one that defended herself from this unprovoked attack. But she is now suffering two serious black eyes and one that is bleeding unstoppably. Her wrist has also swelled up. She has been severely affected mentally, physically, and emotionally. She also stated that she is afraid to step out of her home from now on. This traumatic event has left her with PTSD. Although she has health insurance that covers the basics, there are still many medical expenses that cannot be covered on her own. She is a cancer survivor and she also has had diabetes for over 10 years now. The funds that we receive will be used to cover her medical expenses, her therapy treatment, and her bills that we will have to pay constantly from now on. We want to thank everyone that is donating and that has shown my family massive support through this very traumatic event. My heart is with all the other elderly asians that has also been seriously injured or killed in this wave of attacks towards the asian community.

During the quiet hours in the middle of the night, a single vehicle crashed into the newly-built parklet in front of Concetta restaurant on J Street. The driver is reportedly okay, but the parklet is not. ⁣ ⁣ Parklets are being built around downtown to help businesses survive coronavirus times when outdoor dining is deemed safer. This particular parklet was designed, funded and built by Brad Hawn, Hawn Engineering, and volunteers from Redeemer Church, all out of care for our small business owner community who feed us all and are the heart of our downtown. ⁣ ⁣ Concetta has been a downtown staple for decades now, and their chefs, servers and owner Paul Tremayne represent the downtown family heart to so many across the region. ⁣During this time, they need us. ⁣ We would love to see Concetta and their parklet get through this rough time and to the flip side, when a parklet isn't there merely for business survival, but there for what parklets are traditionally know for: being a fabulous amenity, adding to the downtown experience, filled with lights, greenery, the sound of clinking wine glasses, happy chatter and neighborly laughter. ⁣ ⁣ Please consider a financial contribution to the rebuilding and repair of Concetta's parklet here. Miguel passed away 11 years ago and since that time, thru the generosity of friends and family, we have offered this scholarship to Escalon High School graduates. 

We look for scholar-athletes that have some of the same traits as our friend:  someone who possesses a strong work ethic, who may have persevered through some adversity in their lives while going to school, a person who has proven to be a reliable friend, teammate, etc.

Let’s see if we can make 2020 our biggest year yet!

On June 18th our good friend and fellow corgi owner Alex took his pups Corgi and Buster for their usual nightly bathroom break, in the shared backyard of his complex.&nbsp; What should've ended in sniffing every bush on the way back to snuggles on dad's cozy bed. No one could have guessed what was to happen next. As Buster was handling his business, from across the yard at full speed another tenant's pitbull slips off leash and charges directly for Buster. This all happens in the blink of an eye, with no time for Alex to react and protect his fur pups. Buster's brother Corgi saw the pitbull heading toward his best friend so he heroically jumps in front of him and takes the vicious attack. The pitbull grabs Corgi by the neck and dangles him in the air. By this time the owner of the pitbull runs to come help while bringing his other pitbull with him on leash. The second pitbull has now grabbed Corgi's leg and started tearing at it while he was still being held by the neck in the jaws of the first pitbull.&nbsp; This position continued for minutes on end, and no one could get the dogs to break their grip until they finally decided to let go. Once the dogs let go of Corgi, Alex rushed him to the nearest vet hospital. The following day the owner of the pitbills had assured Alex not to worry about any medical cost. He would take care of any and all cost due to the damage of his dogs. This was short lived... Once Alex found out from the vet what the emergency surgery and the rest of Corgi's medical bill come out to ($15,000 ) he informed his neighbor who has not returned his calls or text messages. Which now leaves him to take care of this all on his own. What makes matters worse this tenant is still allowed to live in the complex with his vicious dogs. Corgi's damages: -Right hind leg was completely torn all the way through the Adductor muscle. -Right hip was dislocated badly. -He also has major bite wounds on the front leg and left hind leg. Thankfully Corgi's surgery went well and his stay at the hospital has come to and end. The nightmare isn't completely over. The debt of $15,000 is left after all this mess. If we could relieve some or all of this stress of debt, it would be so amazing. We are so incredibly grateful for your support and prayers for Corgi.
