<div>As many of you may know, I had surgery in December of last year to remove a mass in my colon. Shortly afterwards, I found out that <strong>I had stage 3 colon cancer</strong> and started chemo in January of this year. I recently found out that I had lost my medical benefits. I have been out on short-term disability and have started to come up short paying my monthly bills. I was unaware I had to pay for my benefits out of pocket. Unfortunately, I had 2 treatments that were not covered by insurance and I have had to press pause on my treatments because I am not able to pay for them. I was halfway through my treatments and will have to continue them once my insurance is reinstated. Unfortunately, I had already met my out-of-pocket limit and will have to start all over again.

<div>Update: Tanner’s beautiful soul fought as hard as it could and has now passed on. He left this world on April 27th 2022. His family is now asking for any support to help with left over bills and funeral expenses.

<div><br />Tanner is a beautiful special needs child with Down Syndrome and Autism. He has a charismatic personality that loves his music, stuffed animals, riding in the car, looking at water towers and watching baseball. He first battled Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2020, and his cancer went into remission. Unfortunately, Tanner began feeling unwell recently, and he was diagnosed with cancer a second time. He is undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Duke Children's Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. It has been determined that he will also need to have a bone marrow transplant in the near future.

<div><br />Tanner is in great need of support for himself and his mom, who is his primary caregiver. The funds raised will go towards gas (transportation to Duke), food, hotel stays and medical costs. Tanner's Journey: Honoring His Battle

Cortney is a very active 26 year old. One of her main hobbies is running and training for various races. However, a couple of months ago, she started experiencing some intense back and shoulder pain. After going to the Doctor on June 29th, she was misdiagnosed with a ruptured disc in her back and sent home to recover. By that Sunday, her pain had not subsided any at all and we had to take a trip to the E.R., where we found out she had an almost two foot long blood clot in her left arm, which was why her back and shoulder was in so much pain. After being sent home with some blood thinners, she was then called back to the ER the next morning. There was something abnormal in her X-ray. After a CT Scan, she discovered she had a grapefruit sized mass sitting under her breastbone, which was pinching her blood vessel causing the clot. After a couple of weeks of waiting, she was FINALLY referred to Duke Medical Center, where she was scheduled for a biopsy of the mass in her chest. On August 4, a little over a month from her ER trip, Cortney got the results from the biopsy: she tested positive for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. <br />Although at this point we do not yet know what stage the cancer is at or what treatment she will need, we do know that she has a long road in front of her. The funds from any donations will help offset the cost of her treatments, as well as help her family be able to come be with her during her treatments. Cortney just recently moved from her hometown in Wisconsin to Raleigh NC. She is also making hand made hats for sale too!
