<div><strong>But the hardships didn’t stop there</strong>. After being forced to flee our home over five times, escaping rockets and danger, we returned only to find it nearly wiped out. Our house was destroyed, and it’s no longer livable. Now, not only are our hearts heavy with grief, but we also have no place to call home. We’re currently staying in a relative’s garage, trying to get through each day.

<div>I introduced myself as a student from Gaza, a young man in his twenties with big dreams, a future full of plans and goals. In a short time, I’ve lost so much. But I’m not afraid of death; what scares me most is losing my dreams and my education. I can’t imagine life without university. Unfortunately, I can’t continue my studies here because the universities are destroyed, and many of my professors are gone. That’s why I need to study in another country—to keep my dreams alive.

<div>Here’s how the money will be spent:

Support Hassan's Family in Gaza for a Better Life

<div>Some of you know that our brother Tim has been in the hospital since just after Thanksgiving.  He developed an infection in his heart, and it really knocked him down.  He had open heart surgery just before Christmas and is still in intensive care.  He is doing well but faces a long road to full recovery.  Tim and his partner Nancy are both on fixed incomes and the bills are already piling up. We would all be incredibly grateful if you could help them cover the mounting expenses.  This is not the first time Tim’s gone through this.   He had a similar infection and had a valve and part of his aorta replaced ten years ago.  He recovered well from that surgery and was finally hitting his stride when this recent infection set in.  The recent surgery removed the infected valve and aorta and replace them for the second time.  He’s made it through surgery, but he’s incredibly weak and will be looking at another long recovery.  Nancy was at his bedside all day up until the renewed Covid restrictions limited her visits to a half hour per day.  She spent two weeks in a hotel to be close by as the hospital is an hour away from their home over a busy California freeway.  The next step of the recovery will be for Tim to move into a rehab facility where he will probably have to spend a couple months.  After that the road to full recovery will be long.  We’re asking for your support for Tim during this challenging time.  If you have the means to contribute financially, it would be greatly appreciated.

<div>Abdullah once lived a dignified life in Jabalia, northern Gaza — a father, a husband, and a lawyer with his own office and home. But since the war began on October 7, 2023, everything has been torn apart.

<div>Abdullah’s house, once partially damaged, has now been completely destroyed by bombing. Nothing remains — no walls, no roof, no belongings. His law office was also reduced to rubble, leaving him with no source of income, no safety, and no stability.

<div>He, his wife, and their two young children now live entirely without shelter, forced to depend on tents and makeshift coverings, constantly displaced and vulnerable to the scorching heat, freezing nights, and unrelenting airstrikes.
