On August 24, 2024, Chase faced a life-altering moment during the Gold Cup with High Limit Series at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA. On this particular night, Chase was battling forward through the field when everything changed in an instant and his car crashed. The safety team quickly removed him from the car and he was transported to Chico Hospital where he was eventually life-flighted to UC Davis Medical Center. Hours later, Chase underwent a 9-hour surgery to address severe spinal injuries. His doctors repaired and removed bone in his cervical and thoracic spine, including fractures at C5, C6, C7, and a small C1 fracture. His spinal cord was compressed and bruised heavily in this area and is the priority. They also discovered fractures in his T10 and T11 vertebrae, but these did not require surgery.

These past few days have been the hardest days that Chase and the entirety of his family have ever felt. He is in an unimaginable amount of pain and the road ahead is scary, but there is hope for recovery.

Chase’s injuries are classified as “incomplete." Thankfully, his spinal cord was not severed, merely heavily bruised, meaning recovery is still possible with the right care. We are trying our best to fight for him to get into an inpatient rehabilitation center like Shepherd Medical Center or Craig Hospital, where he can get the best possible care. These centers are known for their advanced and comprehensive treatment, offering the best chance for Chase to regain as much mobility as possible.

Anyone who knows Chase knows that he is more than just a figure in the racing community. He’s a husband, a brother, a son, a friend and so much more. He’s a beacon of joy, kindness, and dedication. He lights up the world and is a person we should all strive to be more like. He is a giving man who would help anyone and anybody however he can. Now, he needs us to be there for him.

Though Chase has insurance, it unfortunately will not cover the inpatient rehabilitation that he will need. Any donations will go towards helping Chase get the best care he can. With the right care and Chase’s work ethic, we are certain that he can live his best life.

Race for Chase: Support Chase's Road to Recovery

South County CDJR would appreciate your support as another young child's life has been taken away at 13 years Keyla Salazar, by senseless act of violence at our local yearly city event Gilroy Garlic Festival. Many of our staff and employees are apart of Gilroy community and we support this event yearly. We are in direct contact with Keyla's family also. Please share with others; together we can help with this heartbreaking loss. All monies will go directly into parents account.

My uncle, my fathers identical twin was diagnosed with bladder cancer shortly after this past Christmas. Due to end stage renal disease and other health issues, his cancer was not stage right away. The cancer was found after he was found unresponsive at his home. From that day on, he never returned home. He spent the past months going back and forth to the hospital and care facility (who kept trying to release him for failure to participate with physical therapy because he was too tired after dialysis).

Less than one month ago, he was referred to Stanford and then diagnosed with stage 4 invasive bladder cancer to his liver, bones and lymph nodes. He just started immunotherapy two weeks ago. We thought we had a few more months with my dear uncle. A few days ago I received a call that he wasn’t responsive when the day before he was up talking and went to dialysis. We were told he suffered a stroke and likely also has pneumonia. Tonight my uncle, my fathers identical twin passed away with family at his side.

We were not prepared for this to happen this quickly and thought the immunotherapy would work. Any contributions you could help with would greatly be appreciated by the family during this time of great sorrow and mourning. All contributions will go directly to providing him with a dignified funeral service and a peaceful place to lay to rest.

Hello my dear friends,
Carolyn here! I have been asked by Pregnant Mare Rescue in Larkin Valley to step up and help with this lovely mare and foal pair. They were at the kill pen in Texas and on their way to slaughter. They are super sweet and need our love and care! Mom is severely under weight, needs her feet trimmed, teeth floated, wormed, etc. We were told that she has been bred back.
These are registered well bred horses that were just thrown away as so many are....
I am asking for donations to help us provide them with the much needed care that they deserve. Every donation is greatly appreciated! Visitors are always welcome! Thank you so much for your caring and support!!!
Carolyn
